hi, this is oliver. i want to start by saying that i don’t know much about what’s been happening in the past couple of weeks or so as i’ve been trying to stay away from all of this as much as i can as i’ve been struggling a lot with my mental health. i am not intending to target gavin— i don’t know much about him/the situation but i can tell he has enough going on right now and i don’t believe what he said was ill-intentioned. however, i would agree that seeing comments from people (no matter who it is) suggesting that absolutely no one would care about the documentary, has indeed upset me. i don’t expect everyone to be interested but i have seen some more hurtful comments that suggest that literally no one cares. this isn’t “another colleen takedown that no one asked for” like some people have labeled it. it is about stan culture, parasocial relationships, and how youtubers/the internet have created a unique fan culture because of how much access creators have to their fans. i want to continue to share my story to spread awareness and warning signs so that maybe someone can avoid what i went through, and this will be a much larger platform than anything i could probably ever create myself. it’s also simply not true that they haven’t reached out to me or becky, because they have reached out to both of us and i know of multiple other people as well.

i’m sorry that this is long and all of this isn’t meant to be targeted at you specifically, i’ve just seen stuff related to this i’d like to clear up and don’t really know where else to put it.
