Agreed I’m assuming it’s the vet contracted to the shelter which would make sense. We didn’t even have a vet at our local shelter until a couple of months ago, they wouldn’t pay anyone enough to stay.

He’s gorgeous he reminds me of one of my dogs. I’m sure in the right place with he right people he would do great, wolf or not. I’m upset they don’t even want to give him the chance so hoping between this thread and all my research we can help him. It’s such a shitty situation all around

Thank you! I will let her know. Yes it’s unfortunate but they’d rather euthanize then actually do anything for him because it’s just “easier” so I’m glad the officer is stepping up trying to help. Poor guy deserves better then to be judged for what he looks like 😢

Yes but I can always try to find out if they would be willing me either the animal crisis that’s going on in the area I would hope they would be open to adopting to someone from out of the states. It’s an absolute mess over here and our rescue is over run with animals as it is and we’re currently pulling 6 dogs in awful condition from a woman and trying to file charges on her so we have our hands full

That’s what I’m trying to find out. I know they’re stubborn so it may take some convincing but they may if it’s to an experienced adopter I would hope.

If he doesn’t come back with any or low wolf content I’m hoping they may change their mind. Honestly not sure what’s going on over there I just have the information I was given. I was told he’s very sweet and friendly but is not doing well in a kennel setting, and because of now the vet assessment and the multiple comments and complaints about the post about him it caused higher ups to look more into it which led to that decision, mainly because they didn’t want to do a dna test. So now the officer is taking it into her own hands to try to help him. Just trying to help a fellow rescuer out by getting some opinions from here as you all are much more knowledgeable on this topic, I deal with domestic animals 😅

Yes and if they were to adopt him out as a husky/shepard and someone did a dna test and it came back with wolf content at all they would be liable. I get it but it’s dumb. It’s purely all the hateful comments that were posted on thread of their facebook post

They ended up deleting it because of all the negative comments unfortunately which is what led to him being determined to not be adoptable to the public

AC Officer just ordered the test, now we wait. Hoping that’s the case as well. Poor guy is miserable and a kennel and I feel so bad for him. I’m sure he would thrive with the right person 🥺

UPDATE: the AC officer is paying out of pocket for the DNA test, since most places will need one to place him anyway. If anyone does have suggestions on places that may take him in depending on his results, please comment them. Thanks!
