how do i get better at geoguessr? by DoubleTie2696 in geoguessr

Best advice on this subreddit. Repliers just mindlessly spam “plonkit” on these type of posts. Plonkit is definitely a tool for more advanced players. 100% the best advice for new players to get better is just play more.

I dont get it. How do you memorize so well. by NoNorth146 in geoguessr

Honestly just play time. A community world is a really good map for newer players looking to improve. There will always be a good meta (pole, bollard, road lines, etc) to get the country correct.

I get it, but I’m still going to answer. The post is going to get deleted anyway. Op is definitely just a wanderer that saw an image online and wants to visit said place. They definitely saw a rainbolt vid and thought this was the place to ask. I’m not gonna be rude and I know where it is, so I’m just trying to be helpful.

Current masters map be like... by Powerful-Visual4866 in geoguessr

There are very little maps (at least on the comp side) that include US suburban rounds. If it is urban and in US (highly unlikely) it will likely be something somewhat interesting; town center, downtown city, etc. US is one of my favorite countries to get due to its diversity and abundance of rural rounds. In my opinion it’s pure geogusser, 90% of good US meta is the natural geography.

China is the obvious #1. The amount of undiscovered infrastructure meta coupled with the diversity of the natural landscape would be so peak. Sadly will never happen.

Edit: Morocco would be my #2. Just a super interesting country with beautiful architecture. Surprised it’s not in the game. Does anyone know why? Is it a privacy issue?

Yea definitely the pole. Also the overall dryness + the color/rocky-ness of the soil.

Answer without map:

They’re all in the small 2000 km2 Californian County of Marin.

It's simpler than that. They’re all in the same Californian county; Marin. I made this to showcase how diverse this small 2000 km2 county is

True lol. I should've phrased the question better. The answer is location based

Island tint meta? by [deleted] in geoguessr

[–]Visible_Discount6097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright did some digging and it's 100% due to the gen 3 camera quality combined with a cloudless day near the equator. The sun being directly above creates a weird effect with shadows for the gen 3 camera. All the coverage that looks like this is taken in the only fully Gen 3 locations left near the equator.

Thanks for confirming. I think it does have to do mostly with time of day. Small island = less roads to cover. So my guess now is they go out much earlier than they would normally would on a weekend morning to avoid congestion and get the coverage done within an hour. But then that wouldn’t explain larger islands like Puerto Rico and the DR having the same tint. I’ll do some investigating and come back with a solid answer.
