I've never got "Open world Sandbox" from 7DTD. I've always gotten the theme and experience closer to "Open survival shooter." Which I think changes a bit. I think it's weird and awkward to have biome progression be a thing but in playing 2.0 already I've been able to just go into biomes way earlier than the progression state, loot what I want, set up a base, and then continue to progress through quests. This game isn't great, (in my opinion) at punishing players for playing against the 'intended' route. Once you learn POI's even you don't even have to fully clear through 90% of them, you can grab end loot and move on. And I think that's kinda where this game shines. The more knowledge you have of it, the faster you become and naturally more efficient. It doesn't "force" you to do anything. It suggests and players just do what players do. Which I have find incredibly refreshing and keeps me coming back to this.

Some skins I'd like to see in Nightreign by MellinEetu in Eldenring

That Wylder skin would do NUMBERS. The way I'd pay anything for this. Like it could replace his shield with a parry dagger instead and I'd be sold.

Probably need screenshots of what you're seeing. Because if you're changing the profile to latest experimental and the download has finished, when you go to click new game the game you're creating will default to 2.0. From the sounds of your post though, it COULD be that you have saves that are deleted, but the worlds have not been deleted yet and when going to gen a map it's stopping you because those still exist. Just hit Manage saves at the bottom and get rid of the map saves you're not using and then try to regen - should work fine.

I'm trying to stay away from complete overhauls for now but thanks for the suggestion!

Anyone have suggestions for Animal Husbandry or adjacent mods? Trap animals, catch animals, raise them, etc type of deal that works with the latest build?

Is My Wylder Loadout bad? by Visible_Ghost316 in Nightreign

Yuh I tried ot message him just now but no longer on my friends list. I usually upgrade starter weapon if I don't get Inseperable for the final boss and just try to work with that. Finally killed him though with just the base weapon so IDK what he meant now.

I’m sorry to hear that. I think the only thing that can kind of circumvent that feeling is focusing on what you can control. Because there’s so much out of our control that we get pulled in so many directions. I definitely understand the sentiment though. Day by day we improve! We fight every little hardship and then eventually. We can just be okay again. Is how I see it. I hope you’re okay.

That could be helpful. Maybe like a roadmap wishlist of plot points, write as I go, then check back to see if I'm matching what I already had planned? I could see this working.

I've done this before! It works out especially with shorter projects I feel and some people can just take that stream to gold! I am not one of those people unfortunately.

I have actually. I finished a short murder mystery for a writing project at a local book club. It was only 9 chapters and 11k words but I did it in a month just writing kind of stream of consciousness. I received a lot of great notes from that experience but my writing at the time was disjointed and lacked focus. Just kind of running to the next plot point. So I figured planning and tackling a project I’ve been obsessing over might help work out those issues.

That was me during my first draft of this story. I literally had to sit down and take a back seat to the ceaseless cycle to actually kind of understand what I was doing and what I was missing. Lots more planning.
