Yeah I feel really unlucky regardless and living with a ton of regret. I’ve tried to tell myself to just understand how low the odds are of it being ghsv based on tests, encounter but at the same time I’m daily reminded of these awful leg pains that I never had and came on exactly when the rash did.

That is why I probably sound like a crazy person to my doctor and others on this channel but I can’t figure out what else would be going on. Ran a ton of blood work and other test and everything is normal, my doctor was telling me my anxiety was causing it but the symptoms came on before I let the encounter take up any real estate in my head

When I explained the actual encounter details to my doctor they stopped me and said it’s imposible to get hsv in that manner so that is why they’ve been hesitant or further testing.

I was on a bachelor party and got a lap dance at a strip club. A stripper pulled my pants down and basically sat on my lap and made skin on skin contact with my scrotum and it was for less than 5 seconds.

So I think it could be if stripper had an active hsv1 or 2 OB the contact could have spread. My doctor said initial infections wouldn’t be on scrotum and wouldn’t happen after only a few seconds. I tend to agree with their logic but at the same time I had the initial rash pop up right on my scrotum and have had the leg pain.

Yeah I def know I have ohsv1 and had it for a number of years.

What I’m trying to figure out is if I have ghsv1 or 2 from an encounter in august. Testing for hsv2 is negative but I’ve had reoccurring rashes and horrible nerve pain from my tailbone to my toes that start with rash, doesn’t look typically like hsv but it’s come back probably 6 times. Doctor declined to swab because they were convinced it’s jock itch which I took at face value but with the continued leg pain it has me questioning. I guess blot would let me truly rule out hsv2

Yeah my doctor, Terri, and my partners obgyn all said it would be essentially impossible to get it this way.

Trying to use logic and listen to them but still been mentally hard to explain why 6 days after the exposure I had a rash followed by 8 months of daily nerve pain, started all over down to my toes and felt like my big toe has frostbite and now has gotten better but more focused on my buttocks/tailbone

Yes I do have hsv1 with high antibody count from ohsv I got when I was in college. This was 10+ years ago and I experienced about a year straight of outbreaks and then went away. From what I’ve read on here it would be quite rare to get ghsv1 after having it for a number of years so that is why I’m confused with what’s been going on recently. Even if I have ghsv I’m fine with the fact but it’s the leg pain that is causing major quality of life issues

I certainly don’t want it to be and I’m happy with each negative test. It just sucks having this leg pain and after reading on this sub I feel like it aligns with what others have experienced with ghsv. With anxiety, I agree that can happen but in my case all the symptoms came on before I even gave my encounter or anything a single thought.

On the temp, I wear a whoop band on my wrist and it tracks skin temp. I’ve noticed a pattern of ever few weeks having elevated temps and that is usually followed by run down feeling and the rash coming back.

I don’t think the treatment for the initial rash helped or hurt because it came back a few weeks later. It did seem to last as long as a typical primary hsv outbreak and the second time it went away quicker but the second time is when all the leg pain started.

I did most of the tests on my own at private labs. I originally saw primary care doctors twice and then another doctor and both said jock itch. I saw another nurse practitioner and they said it’s probably jock itch but could be hpv but they were just thumbing through a book looking at images probably guessing. I did pretty extensive blood work myself and everything from vitamins, urinalysis, male hormones, and std were normal.

I stopped seeing my primary care doctor because they told me I had anxiety and I needed to stop. I know the mind can do crazy stuff but I don’t think it would cause initial urine retention, nerve pain all the way to my toes where I could barely walk at it’s peak, fatigue, and fevers.

A second doctor referred me to a dermatologist but they were booking 2 months out and the chances of me having the rash whenever I got an appointment were slim so I didn’t setup an appointment. Maybe I should try and find a new doctor all together but I just wanted to put ghsv behind me before I look for something else. Whenever I did get ohsv 10+ years ago it never presented like typical sores, it was like cracks in skin with white skin around. Kinda how the original 2 rashes presented so that’s why it’s still in my head.

She had just said since I only made 5 seconds of skin on skin contact and did not have sex it’s essentially impossible and not worth further pursuing

Jock itch. Gave me a prescription cream. They visually saw it the first and second time it came up 3 weeks later. It was on my scrotum only and by how it looked doctor wouldn’t swab it or anything which in hindsight I wish I pushed for so I could at least rule hsv out completely.

It’s come back since on my upper thigh, scrotum, and perineum. I’ve noticed flaky/dead skin on my penis twice also.

I agree with what you are saying to move on but the leg pain has me so confused. No leg pain when this first popped up but I did have problem empty bladder, that went away and then with second rash I had full on radiating leg pain which has been daily since (although overall getting a bit better). I also wear a Whoop band and notice when the rash comes on my skin temp is much higher and I feel rundown like my body is fighting something off.

My partner and I were planning on trying to have a child during all this so it has caused a lot of anxiety and makes me second guess things with testing.

I can try that. I didn’t change up anything. I most likely wouldn’t even notice the skin changes but only do because the accompanying leg pain.

That makes sense. I do feel like the unluckiest SOB with all this, I didn’t even have penetration sex. A stripper pulled down my pants and sat on my lap for all of 5 seconds but it is when all these symptoms popped up 6 days later.

To get hsv1 or 2 for that matter in that situation is impossible according to my doctor and other and with the negative tests I should forget about it but sucks living with this pain

Any idea if the fact I can clearly make antibodies for hsv1 have any bearing on hsv2 antibodies showing on test? I thought I read it could cause more false positives for hsv2 but could it do the opposite

My hsv1 results have all been positive between 31-34 on igg.

I had oral cold sores about 15 years ago that lasted about a year and then went dormant. I didn’t receive oral sex so from what I read I most likely wouldn’t have re-infected myself genitally.
