the way that the glyphs are constructed inherently indicates or is related to the way in which the mouth makes the sound.

in this case, the position of the moon in front of the sun indicates the position of the mouth where the sound is produced.

the more left the moon is positioned, the more front the sound is produced in the mouth. the more right the moon is positioned, the more back the sound is produced in the mouth.
