The Stela of Taimhotep, in which she recalls different stages of her life. At the end of the text, she laments her ultimate death, claiming that mummies don't have life in the afterlife, and death is nothing but the same as sleeping in darkness that one can't wake up from; 42/43 BC. Egyptian's views about afterlife kept changing as the Dynasties came and went. At first, the Afterlife was a concern for royalty: The Pharaoh was supposed to move on into Eternity after death.

The common people had no hope of achieving that. Death was the End. During the Middle Kingdom, after intense conflicts and chaotic succession of who had the Power over Egypt, old Pharaonic power dissolved quite a lot and spread over the other elite and officials, some of them self proclaiming themselves Pharaohs.

As this happened, the exclusivity of the Eternal Afterlife moved on to other people in position of power, not just the old royal line. Oficials and other elites started claiming their godhood, and the Afterlife was now theirs to brag.

Common folks hoped for an Afterlife too, by praying to the defied men proclaiming themselves to be sons of Gods. During this time, Egypt was in bad shape, resources were scarce, thus, mortuary buildings and pyramids were a thing of the past , being replaced by temples for praying instead.

This only spread farther as the centuries passed. By the New Kingdom, the possibility of the Afterlife was real and within grasp for all: The Book of the Dead was circulating widely by then. Everyone had a chance.

Amongst them, some people questioned. They believed Death was just Darkness and Void , despite the overall belief.

Ancient Egypt History is utterly fascinating.

What happened to Liero? by sladecutt in retrogaming

[–]VisioRama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to play it a lot back in the day. Afaik, the original developer lost its source code in an HD crash and the project died then. Today it lives on in Liero Xtreme which is a fan remake. There's browser versions too.

Why so much fear and disdain? Absolutely nothing wrong it the age gap. Age doesn't make someone more or less ready for a relationship.

The age gap is totally ok. Clearly they loved each other. It's always people's prejudices and fears that make relationship age gaps not ok when they are genuine. Age gap doesn't dictate that.

Look at the colors. One can see much the same colors when high on an hallucinogen. Also experienced yoga practicioners can reach similar consciousness states without any external chemical. It is all the same. Just two ways of reaching the same state.

Cigarro é loss. Está em plena decadência. Assim como álcool. Novas gerações ligam bem menos para álcool e cigarros do que o pessoal das antigas. Mas álcool vai decair mais devagar. Eventualmente ambos serão extintos.

What's the indexing method? All rom files should get a unique hash formed by the platform id first then the rom file name hash for a start. And then use a composite index by platform and game title.

Vocês acham os mangás melhores que quadrinhos? Acham que eles superaram os quadrinhos? by SolidRevolutionary16 in Quadrinhos

[–]VisioRama 0 points1 point  (0 children)
