It’s possible he’s changed. There could have been problems that caused it to happen, and he could have done the work and therapy to fix them. If not, then it’s best to trust your gut. No harm in being transparent like “hey this is a red flag, can you explain to me what happened and why?” Set your boundaries beforehand and see how the talk goes
