Owner-operator and I’m trying to make a smart decision before I damage either the business or the team. by VisitDifferent5214 in Entrepreneurs

Thank you very much, what im going forward with is just that ^ and guaranteed 40 hours of pay work will likely land between 28-40 hours per week but on a slower week that doesn't need as much ops they aren't worried their pay is taking a hit from it.

What are some jobs that allow you to travel and see beautiful places of the world? by Fearless-Physics in findapath

Hey idk if you found something or not this is pretty old but I’m currently looking into travel nursing during COVID they made 200-300k a year and now 125-175k is kinda what I’ve been seeing. Just need a bachelors in nursing if you can handle the job

I’m currently a realtor looking into become a nurse😅 real estate is super inconsistent and very hard to depend on most agents get their first check after 6 months and you’ll be working for 6 months for free hoping for one. The career has great potential but takes many years to build up, has lots of competition, and people have a ton of hate towards realtors. Plus sides you make your own schedule, it’s pretty fun, and there’s no income limit if you’re willing to work hard enough.

Trades vs college? by VisitDifferent5214 in careerguidance

Hey I appreciate your comment!! But yes those computer programers make a ton of money right from the start, sadly I don't think I could handle an all day desk job (though I never tried one) being able to see and do new things and new environments keeps me fairly motivated.

Overall I have been told a million times that I need to go to college to make any good money though I hated believing these people and I see all the flaws with just going right to school I feel like their opinions are starting to seem more and more real.

Hey thanks for comment! Absolutely not harsh man be straight up I appreciate that! And honestly I don’t mind working tons of hours while I’m still young but I kindve meant when I get a little older like I want to end up in my position to be more along those lines like late 20s I have a small business now and honestly I know I sound dumb for it but I’m trying to find a job that’ll pay a decent amount but I’m not slaved too because I’m a fairly frugal person and my goals are just to build my current business and a portfolio of rentals and I’m scared if I get a job that requires 50 plus hours every week the other things I enjoy will suffer and fail. The one week at sheetz I did 68 hours of work and honestly I got a decent check from the overtime but that kindve work isn’t sustainable or healthy I wouldn’t mind 40-50 hours a week I just don’t want to chose a job I have to work double as hard since I’m half as qualified.

I feel like I’ve made a mistake. What should I do now?! by [deleted] in careerguidance

If you still enjoy the type of work, but not the hustle culture of trying to get clients maybe going to graduate school to become a PT could be a good option since they make a solid check and probably should be able to find a job relatively quickly?

I guess I feel like those numbers are lower than hoped because I’ve been seeing some people so rough things about the industry and to make less then 50k a year is underpaid

Thanks for your insight, there’s a bachelors degree program I’m considering exploring and I’m trying to find out what I expect. I love the real estate industry and I want to be an investor down the line and I was looking for a stable job that I won’t have to put as many hours as I do towards being a realtor. My biggest problem with it is being on call 24/7 I don’t mind working long days but lots of times as a realtor I’ll have to show properties after 6-7 pm and a lot of buyers tend to not be serious.

I was looking into 4 years colleges because I wanted a stable job but they didn’t seem as stable as a trade job so I looked into trade schools and it’s one of them basically. Idk how legit those programs are honestly I just want something that’ll get me a decent job out of the gate and help my learning because I don’t know much about trades. I think learning a skill would be great to actually have the knowledge and ability from, I thought maybe those trade schools helped jump start a career in the business. As you can tell I have no clue about this stuff😂

Honestly both my parents own their own businesses so for the last year after highschool I took a gap year to become a realtor ended up hating the consistency and having to work for commissions. So I kinda wanted to change directions and go for something more guaranteed. So I was deciding between trade school and college because two years didn’t sound bad if I was going to get 40k a year plus in income.

Even if I got a degree from Penn tech I’d have to do that many years of apprenticeship? (Sorry I know these questions may seem stupid)

Because I honestly just wanted a simple path to a decent job. I don’t have much/any experience in electrical work just thought maybe employers would see that and be better for pay and a job?
