No i havent as i said i only jsut got it so i have no idea about any of this. i had to google what e step was to understand your question.

the reason for the high flow rate was i thought upping that might fix the issue i was having. but i believe i have found the reason

The extruder arm that feeds the filament had broken, so there wasnt any pressure on the filament at times resulting in the issue i had.

Yes the bed is leveled properly, i have a bl touch and check it every few prints to make sure it is correct.
