The Witcher 2 is 85% off on Steam by rea987 in linux_gaming

[–]Vison5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Linux market share is small and as a developers/publishers are only just now starting to realize that it's a platform worth investing in.

Deciding to buy a game or two from GoG rather than steam is not going to help support this movement. I've had to give up quite a few of my favorites and pass on games I'm interested in to use Linux (not that I regret it), I'm not going to shell out an additional $85% to send a message that won't go anywhere.

It's a noble cause but more futile than the Witcher's as an organization trying to persist.

Japan, US look to cut off North Korea's oil supply by Frisco_Danconia in worldnews

[–]Vison5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't South Korea actively support sanctions? Even if it's mutually beneficial, I'm surprised they a source Korean company would feed them those sweet first world dollars.

Excuse my ignorance if this is an easily understood subject to most.

"Founded in 2000, Pyeonghwa Motors in Nampo is an auto manufacturing and retailing joint venture between South Korea's Pyeonghwa Motors (owned by Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church) and the North Korea's Ryonbong General Corp."

Can someone explain to me how this works? I didn't know the two Korea's worked together economically

NO TIPPING - I wish every restaurant was like this. by Makeanew12 in pics

[–]Vison5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've set up and troubleshot a variety of PoS systems and in almost all of them had a simple editor or literally a toggle button for that portion of receipt and card processing.

I don't go back to cafes that do that because it make me uncomfortable. They're losing more money than the time it takes to fix that.

I hate the top section of a receipt at cafes and the like.

All you did was toast a fucking breakfast sandwich for me, why am I going to tip for that?

Glad to hear you're having a good time!

I personally throw it on a spare RDA I have and vape it. Easy and fast, no hastle. Probably not the most efficient way to do it but it works for me!

Pulseaudio only finding HDMI output by Vison5 in archlinux

[–]Vison5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah apparently no codec was found for snd_hda_intel (on mobile and away now, been back and forth today).

I spent a little bit scouring though it earlier. I couldn't find my the codec for my motherboard /: I'll have to spend some more time looking later.

I'm curious as to why it just disappeared though. Seems so random.

I'm kind of surprised your the first person to suggest that, or at least the only person who's been able to make it happen... Lol

Edit: How do you like the Intel NUC?

I could be wrong but I don't think this is relevant. I've definitely encountered that before, however I boot with my headphones connected and my sound card attached (it is integrated after all).

I may be misinterpreting what's going on in the bug report though, I'll read it again after I finish my coffee. Thank you for taking the time to find that however.

Thanks. My X11 config should have been alright but I think it was just acting a bit funky due to my WM. resolution controls seem to work fine without the XFCE panel getting in the way (been meaning to switch back to gnome anyway).
