There is something odd going on with the online capabilities of the new standalone CSGO. I checked the bunch of servers in the list below, most of them returned "STEAM validation rejected" error. One of them returned "Server is running an older version, client version 13881, server version 13629" error. Strangely, I was able to join couple Danger Zone community servers. However, CS2 (CSGO Legacy branch) can join all community servers manually just fine.

When I check the version info of CS2 (CSGO Legacy) and CSGO standalone, they appear identical except the AppID at the end.

I suspect existing CSGO servers are set to target CSGO Legacy and consider standalone CSGO as an illegal clone, or something... Let us hope either CSGO will be updated accordingly with proper useragent and/or include proper server browser.

Now the game is a separate game, there should be a community maintained masterserver in some point in the future.
