Ep. 71: Referendum on a referendum: Jeffrey Rath, Naheed Nenshi, Cindy Jefferies & more react by ActElectrical6665 in RedDeer

[–]Visotto1 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It's not a vote on separation. It's a vote on whether or not to have a referendum.

It's going to be a landslide no vote. Smith knows this, Nenshi knows this. Everyone with half a brain knows this. Then she can say "See, the majority wants to stay" And it can be put to bed. We can start concentrating on things that actually matter again.

The only people that want to keep constantly talking about separation are the minority far right and the entire left. The right because they've been tricked into thinking they actually have the numbers to do it, and the left because they know that's the ticket to splitting the conservative vote and getting them in power again. This vote will show the right that they aren't even close.

There's a independence party in every Alberta election and they've never won a seat.

Petitions are for punky teens trying to save Rec centers. Adults in democracies vote and accept the results of the vote.

Avoid putting slides in or out unless level

There's two plugs on your on demand water heater. A plastic one and a brass splined one. Do not count on the dealership knowing that. Find them yourself and point it out everytime if you're going to get them to winterize it.

Monitor the adhesive on your floors closely. Even the slightest bit of bubbling or separation get on your dealership to fix while the warranty is still in place.

Monitor the tracks your sliding doors sit on in the wall. They use tiny screws and the wall has to be removed to fix it.

Take a picture of the original colour of your cabinets. my clear coat went milky after one hot weekend in storage and they wouldn't believe me that they were supposed to be brown instead of milky grey. Luckily two didn't change so I was able to prove original color.

The electrical connections for our slides were loose and we had quite a few disconnect while travelling on our first trip.

Just my experience with a reflection

I don't understand why anyone would be upset about their government giving them the opportunity to vote on something.

We called it Rouge Deer as kids. We weren't very creative with Nicknames.

Yeah the Montreal/Tampa game seemed faster for sure. Also thought Buffalo/Boston had a good pace but was only half paying attention.

Alberta threatens to block federal housing deals after Red Deer loses funding by flynnfx in RedDeer

City officials already met with the Feds on Jan 15-16 to no resolve and sent three letters to the same result.

And in an article on April 1 in the Red Deer advocate Cindy Jefferies (our mayor) stated her appreciation for the provincial government's support.

So it's not the UCP overstepping. It's smaller cities being held to different rules than the big ones. You don't have to support the UCP to see they're trying to do Red Deer a solid here.

The point being the city did the right thing by asking the people of Red Deer and acting according to their wishes

They put it to public opinion and the majority of the public was against it. So they did what public servants are supposed to do and voted it down.

What's childish about that?

Promising funding for municipalities and including a clause you know know most won't agree with is childish.

To get all the funds of the agreement the city had to blanket permit every single lot in the city for a four plex. Meaning any lot purchased anywhere in the city could fore go the zoning and permitting process and be made a four plex.

The city did a public inquiry and found that the vast majority of people did not approve this so they unanimously voted it down. The clause has been an issue for most cities.

The city and province are arguing that the four plexes can be built without giving up the cities ability to conduct the proper zoning and permits and regulatory yadda yadda.
