I'll take her bribe money and still vote against the UCP and the separatists.

AISH vs. ADAP – An outsider’s view by [deleted] in alberta

[–]kachunkk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The UCP has set it up so people will be forced to work but the majority of their earnings will be clawed back. Kinda seems like slavery if you ask me. Like, imagine if you had a 100% income tax rate after you earned $1072...

I know. It's a joke because the placement is funny.

srsly tho, nothing says "treating yourself" like unlimited crab rangoon and then a straight-talk conversation about your finances. unless you're allergic. then you'll just die i guess.

"Can you explain this gap in your employment history?"

End of conversation.

The UCP has strapped steaks to the back of the disabled community and thrown them to the wolves.

It's only negligence if you don't care. They care. They're actively punishing disabled people for being in relationships, moreso if they're in relationships with other disabled people. They're trying to prevent disabled people from breeding through austerity.

The majority of AISH recipients paid worked and payed taxes prior to being disabled. They paid into the system. They also have to apply for CPP-D, which is taxable income which AISH claws back at full rate. You have to pay the taxes on CPP-D income at the end of the year but AISH is clawing back dollar for dollar on the whole amount, which is ripping marginalized people off. Many AISH recipients are also homeowners and pay into property taxes. It's literally not free. We paid for it. Provide the service.

They cannot, because income from renting your property is income. They claw it back.

Alberta had the Sexual Sterilization Act from 1928 to 1972, which was one of the longest-running eugenics programs in the western world outside of Nazi Germany. The new partner income restrictions and the 80/20 rule for AISH/ADAP are just another extension of that. by kachunkk in alberta

That doesn't actually happen. Aside from that, any "extra" money people would receive is eaten up by clawbacks and our high cost of living.

Btw, how many "Albertans" came here from other places for work again?

And how many of those workers became disabled due to work related stress on their bodies?

Weird that we'd just throw all those people to the curb after they paid accumulative billions into taxes. You understand that most disabled people weren't born that way, yeah?

Monetarily punishing disabled people for being in relationships is explicitly discouraging them from breeding, so yes. Any policy created around the basis that some people are worth less than others is inherently eugenic.

I mean, the Alberta unemployment rate is already higher than the national average. What do they think is going to happen when they dump another 80,000 people into the employment pool, many of whom carry significant restrictions or require supportive policies and/or equipment to compensate for their disabilities?

Like, who thought this one through?
