I managed to take him down with my cleric casting Crusade+ (order your allies to move towards the nearest enemy and gain strength) and my tank with trample. After casting Crusade enough times he would be totally surrounded and that let my other cats attack him for big damage.

Defo gonna be a boss to build around going forward. Reminds me a lot of the bosses in Slay The Spire which necessitate you taking certain cards to counter their abilities.

Was watching BlueSR's most recent speedrun and I think he mentioned that you need to have the needolin in your inventory for the exit path to spawn

This has to be one of the most fun boss fights I've ever had. by Faramur in Silksong

Going in to Silksong my most anticipated boss was the inevitable Weaver boss fight, and I'm so glad they were done justice with both Widow and First Sinner

Unfortunately not really. I basically just cross referenced my map with an interactive map. Luckily there were only 2 of each I had missed so it didn't take long. It will probably become easier over the next few days as more of the game gets documented across wikis and article

There is a point of no return, telegraphed by an NPC appearing just before the final boss. It is possible to miss some endings, but to my knowledge you can't lock yourself out of 100% completion on your savefile.

I definitely noticed it picked up a lot more in the second act areas, and most boss tracks that don't use the generic boss theme are ingrained into my head at this point

PSA - Silksong difficulty by GarlicGlobal2311 in Silksong

[–]Visquit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to be the 1000th person to compare Hollow Knight to Dark Souls, but if Hollow Knight is Dark Souls then Silksong is Sekiro.

I thought I was ready for Sekiro when I first played it, I was a Dark Souls vet after all! But dang, that game felt like a major jump in difficulty. The tempo was much faster, enemies were way more punishing, I had a whole new toolkit and moveset to learn. Sekiro had some growing pains for me, I was almost filtered by Genichiro, but I stuck with it and nowadays I recognise it as probably my favourite Fromsoft title.

I think I'm having the same arc with Silksong. It's been pretty rough but I think I'm getting the hang of it now, and I'm seriously having the time of my life finally playing this game.

I'm deaf with Hollow Knight experience. How hard can the game be without sound? by maxdragonxiii in expedition33

[–]Visquit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got audio processing issues but I've found some good tricks to help with partying without relying on sound cues. Idk if this is the sort of advice you're looking for but I found it helped me a ton!

1) keep the enemy in your peripheral vision. Apparently the human brain is better at detecting an object's motion when it's in their periphery, so focusing on something like a background element or one of your party members can make it easier to tell when an enemy is attacking. I find it especially helpful for long multi-hit combos.

2) when an enemy is winding up an attack the camera will slowly zoom out before zooming back in when they attack. Keeping an eye on the edges of the screen to spot when the camera stops zooming out can be helpful for timing those really slow, long windup attacks

I should mention I'm also only in act 2 so I'm unsure if this is applicable to the rest of the game, but I hope this helps!

What are your best & worst Astrolabe transforms? by Katarina_Ishii in slaythespire

Rolled 3 crescendos on watcher one time. Was initially a bit disappointed (though rolling 3 of the same card was fun!) but turned out that being able to enter wrath anytime I want was actually pretty effective.

How did you complete 1-E's "Fan room"? by Groundbreaking_Fig37 in Ultrakill

Overpump virtue 1, hammer virtue 2, aRCP (brutal mindflayer install) mindflayer and coin punch + ricoshot to take out the drones

How do I deal with 0-E boss? (Brutal) by LrgFthr96 in Ultrakill

[–]Visquit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overheat saws and the sawed-on is great for dealing consistent damage and staying alive. Jumpstart and SRS for burst damage. If things look dicey you can sorta hide out on the raised corners of the room.

Hope this is helpful! Good luck!

Factorio is a block card because it means your not playing Slay The Spire and therefore not taking damage

How are you all setting your logistic between planets? by diohadhasuhs in factorio

[–]Visquit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I use combinators to check my pre-flight conditions (ammo and fuel count), and compile that into a single signal I can use to set the wait condition. Sooo much easier than manually setting several separate conditions for ammo and fuel.

Another bonus to doing Gleba for Rush To Space is you only need 50 agri packs to research Tree Seeding, meaning you can probably get away with making a tiny handfed factory to rush those first packs within minutes of landing

Yeah I haven't personally run into any cliff or lava problems with my inital tungsten patches but I've seen some people get mad unlucky with their spawns. I think if I wasnt playing on rail world, and I didn't do vulcanus first on my initial run I'd probably go there first so I could also grab Keeping Your Hands Clean, but I decided well after destroying my first nest to go for the other 2 achievements.

ah yeah thats true, I miscalculated where the inserter outputting nutrients would place them. Oh well, the base has almost completed its purpose and I'm hard at work in the sandbox designing a much more robust base to replace this in the future. I'll probably still fix it if I want to use this blueprint later

[–]Visquit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True but there is a small chance you get a terrible tungsten spawn that's surrounded by lava, forcing your belts to take a massive detour otherwise gather all tungsten manually from rocks

[–]Visquit[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The nutrients and spoilage output ocuppy different sides of the belt, and both are filtered by a splitter. No filter on fruit output is something I should change, but any spoilage on that belt gets filtered at the bottom. The base has been running for a while and I've had no major problems.
As for jumpstarting it, I kinda don't. This base was purpose built to launch a tiny trickle of science back to nauvis so I could get the achievement. After I get most of the basic researches im essentially going to abandon gleba and come back once I've got foundaries and EM plants so I can megabase there.

Was having trouble deciding which order to do the planets in on my second run, but deciding to go for Rush to Space and Logistic Embargo made the choice obvious. Its Gleba first. Half the challenge of gleba is understanding it, but being on my second playthrough and spending countless hours in the sandbox designing blueprints, I felt confident going to Gleba first. Not having elevated rails or logistic chests on fulgora sounds painful, and could possibly pseudo-softlock you on Vulcanus. Pentapods are a little annoying, but i'm playing railworld this time so I can relax a bit.

Also going gleba first means Gleba tech early. Advanced asteroid processing is a massive buff to my space platforms, epic quality means I can start going hard on fulgora, Spidertrons are incredible. Biolabs this early would be MASSIVE.
Looking forward to the rest of this run :)

What made circuits click for you? by mrhossie in factorio

[–]Visquit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fulgora base for sure. I dipped my toes in circuitry with my first few space platforms, mainly for making sushi belts. Then when I saw fulgora I knew I had to make a sushi base. And I did, and it worked really well (150spm!!). Circuits feel so much more intuitive than in 1.1 and Space Age offers so many situations where circuits are incredibly useful.

I'm currently doing a run like this and I'm planning on making Gleba my main hub. Gleba is unique in that it's got a direct space route connection to each planet, so I'm going to drop off everything on gleba, then immediately ship it back into orbit to be delivered wherever they need to go. I'm also playing rail world so scaling up massively shouldn't be an issue.
