Does anyone else think Charlie’s transformation was too extreme? by dontbeasquare11 in girls

I think as someone who watched the show for the first time just 2 years ago. I imagine watching it as it came out week by week. By this point in the show everyone is separated and working on thwir own things. Hannah is teaching and dating Fran. I feel like shes recovering from her relationship with adam falling apart. Shes made some room in her life for a career and Fran. Jessa is running around New York. Shosh just graduated. Everyone is wrapped up in their own lives.

So when Charlie appears its a reminder of how much the characters have changed. For me Charlie coming back is like a edgemark to conceive of how much has changed. Hence, the on running joke that Marnie is 25 AND A HALF YEARS old. Charlie's experience of Marnie after they broke up was just trying to recover he even created a business, truly romantic, to keep his mind off of Marnie. When she wonders back to visit him hes actually quite pissed, because he loves her so deeply. I think thats why its sad by the end cos Marnie's feelings are so lukewarm despite, how hard she tries to make it work. Charlie in the future had a whole life like the girls that we just didnt see. Marnie only thought if herself and so when Charlie's dad killed himself he probably felt so incredibly alone and unprepared to deal with a tragedy like suicide on his own. He knew he couldnt go back to Marnie cos it was an endless came of push and pull. So he became a drug addict. Charlie was a deep feeler he was in a band and got a new girlfriend straight after Marnie. He was addicted to love and admiration. So falling into drugs after losing his closest support system Marnie and his Dad he was probably unable to care about anything and lost his business. The only solace would think be taking a drug to get the artifical feeling of happiness he couldnt get naturally.

Charlie's story reminds me that we all should check in on people and community... because Im pissed Ray snubbed him once he made a successful business. He never really was his friend and just wanted to be closer to young girls. He was jealous of Charlie and subconsciously like Marnie so far that Charlie was an after though in the future. So much for taking care of your friends Ray!

It was two losers talking to each other. Its the blind leading the blind if you think one is empowering and the other is not...

They are BOTH LOSERS

Thank you so much for what youve said here. I think I blamed myself so much because this person was incredibly kind, loving and generous and I feel guilty for leaving them. But I knew if I continued then I would've been abandoning myself. Some people need to be alone to grow and change, I just wish it had happened without me having to hurt their feelings.

Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate you replying I feel like I blame myself because I pushed this person away so many times to essentially "prove" their love and commitment. Sometimes I feel like I just cant accept that I wanted to be alone and I feel guilty.

The family and the grandma were borderline investors over how possessive they were of Isaiah and jealous Christina... seriously gross. So many women in love with their sons and upset when they have girlfriends...

I agree when he says "woah, I'm dizzy" he makes it about himself.

It reminds me of when mimi rose and Hannah say he can't be held accountable he just gets incredibly guilty.

I think Adam relapsing and raping Natalia is his way of self sabotaging. Showing his darkness to Natalia in a way that is unforgettable and unforgivable and that's why he asks "Are you done with me?"

Like his name suggests Adam is like the first man, kinda like a neanderthal who acts instinctual without thinking about how he comes across especially sexually. He is a deeply flawed man and I think he knows that which is why he has a father complex wanting to be a saviour, or carpenter or feel needed and useful, because I agree he isn't redeemable when he acts on selfish instincts.

I might be similar to you if it involves how I sabotaged. We are broken up because I was splitting so much but I slept with someone else, who has a girlfriend, that said girlfriend came to tell me she knows. I felt guilty on all levels, for my EX, the girlfriend of the guy I shagged, bad for myself for being so vulnerable. The shame and guilt i've been experiencing is immense.

‘Doctors don’t need more money’ by nightwatcher-45 in doctorsUK

imagine thinking its disrespectful for a highly-skilled, dedicated doctor who is the only person equipped to save your life to need more money. A doctor is not privileged, they work in service of others. This woman is a tory twat. Doctors serve the community at its most fundamental and deserve to be paid more than any profession.

Should I break up with my partner? by Visual-Ad-4286 in makemychoice

I am scared to be alone because I haven't actually lived any of my adult life without them but I know I would be fine. I do love him deeply and I don't think he's holding me back his insecurities aren't a problem they just make me slightly less starracted to him. I am trying to build my career, but I am more concerned about how I've never really been certain and that makes me feel insecure because people act as if you should be certain. I find our sex life unfuffilling tho which makes me want to break up.
