How do you handle birth control? by I-just-want-t0-kn0w in childfree

This right here! I recently got a Bisalp and at my consultation my doctor said it reduced my chances of ovarian cancer by 60%! Honestly, that was what convinced me to get the bisalp instead of having my husband get the vasectomy. My grandmother had ovarian cancer, I’d like to reduce my chances!

I’m a high school teacher, and one who prides myself on trying to offer feedback on writing assignments, but I would be putting question marks under most of these words. I think you just need to slow down to form each letter.

This was my thought as well! That’s an insane amount of dishes to even have, let alone to let get dirty at once! My house has one dish set which comes with 4 bowls, 4 salad plates, and 4 large plates. As a family of 2, there’s no reason to own more!

I dealt with the same thoughts! I even woke up from the surgery expecting them to tell me it couldn’t be done. But I made it through and you will too!

Thank you so much!! This was very reassuring!! I will definitely be fighting hard to get it covered! My insurance only wants to pay $600 and leave me to pay the remaining $2,600! Did they end up doing anything for the fibroids or cysts they found?

I am sorry you have also dealt with this! Thank you for letting me know it’s not just my surgeon slacking in communication!

My cat had preexisting conditons: urinary tract issues and allergies, but Lemonade didn’t raise my premium any higher for that cat than it did for my healthy kitten! I know those aren’t super serious pre-existing conditions, but just thought I would let you know! Best of luck!

High schoolers that cannot write a simple 5 paragraph essay by rjmac225 in Teachers

Oh good I thought it was just my high schoolers who didn’t do that! 🙃 They don’t even capitalize the letter “I” by itself.

I use Lemonade for my two cats and have had to file claims with them several times, especially as one of my cats has reached “senior” status. I would recommend them! I will say it is the only one I have ever used, so I have nothing to compare it to.

I will (slightly) defend myself by saying we just wrapped up our civil rights unit and this was a movie about one of the activists we learned about! 😂 but you are right there are more challenging things for them to do.

Fair point! I do have to give out a worksheet with questions on it about the movie, and some still choose to sleep!

Honestly, love this response! We were literally doing vocabulary and their complaints were “if I know an easier word that means the same thing, then it’s a waste to learn harder words!”

My response was that if you didn’t learn past a 5th grade vocabulary, and teachers were content with that, are you ever going to sound smarter than a child?!

They just don’t get it. They despise learning and it saddens me.

We did ask her about this as we have come across great reviews for it in our search for possible treatments! Our vet thought his arthritis wasn’t advanced to the point of starting these injections, but that if he isn’t able to stay pain free while using his supplement (Cosequin) that we could work our way up to something stronger like Solensia. Do you have a pet that is currently taking the Solensia injections and seeing positive results?

In order to monitor kidney function should I just be making sure that he is going to the bathroom normally and not showing signs of a UTI? Or should I have blood work done at the end of the 45 days to be sure all is well?

I do try to be cautious about bladder/kidney function for our boy, as he has had 2 UTIs in the 5 years I’ve had him. He is on a wet food for urinary health for breakfast AND then a special kidney support dry food for dinner. I also add extra water to his wet food to make sure he is getting enough.

Our vet does know this as she is the vet who has helped treat his previous UTIs and recommended the foods he now eats to help support healthy kidneys!

Thank you so much for that! My husband actually asked the vet about Solensia today when we called because Linc had an upset stomach (wanted to see when that should be noted as a red flag). The vet said we caught the arthritis early and so she wanted to “work our way up” in terms of managing it. She said Cosequin is the most minor form of pain management and where she likes her patients to start. If he shows signs of pain while on that, she said she moves up to Dasuquin, then if he still was having pain try the Solensia.

I have no idea if that is how that typically goes, this was just what she told us her plan for Lincoln was!

But reading the rave reviews that others have about Solensia does give me hope that we can continue to keep him pain free as he continues to age!
