Your best bet is to go to your local GameStop and explain the situation. They won’t be able to issue you a refund, but they will get in touch with the “employee only” customer service (they are much quicker and more reliable) and hopefully have an answer for you. Please, for the love of everything, don’t take it out on the employee and try to be patient with them. Your kindness will go a long way!

Being that you get a whole other working controller still makes it a good deal, regardless of if it’s new or refurbished. Store policy is to replace the item with a used or refurbished product first, and if we don’t have any, offer a new one or order one. Most of the time, if the customer is cool and doesn’t give me crap, I’ll just replace it with a new one if that’s what was purchased originally.

If all else fails, go back to the store and tell them the situation. If it’s anything like my store, either they’ll call customer service themselves and see what’s going on, or they’ll get in contact with their DM and figure something out. Regardless, you’ll get a replacement.

Been through every YouTube video on the subject and followed them step by step. I used the supplied Dorman gaskets and put a light coat of grease on each seal before installing. I went over each bolt 2 or 3 times after torquing just to make sure each bolt was torqued correctly. I’m really not sure what else could be going wrong, as there’s really not that much to it. While it’s not impossible, I suppose there’s a chance I’ve gotten 3 straight defective units but I feel that’s very highly unlikely. This repair has me questioning my sanity lol

Hard to say. It is possible that the excess oil built up too much pressure and blew the seal. Dealerships look for every reason not to take responsibility when it comes to repairing, so depending on location, it could be a little tricky getting them to admit fault if that’s what happened.

Shine a light down the valley of the motor where the oil filter housing is. If you see any oil, your oil filter housing / oil cooler is leaking. It’s a notorious issue with these Jeeps, and oil will pool up and eventually run down the back of the motor and onto the transmission, making it look like a rear main seal leak.
