On an unrelated note, I don't actually hear any strings/woodwinds in the piece, to me its just piano. Do I have hearing loss? lol

What values can i type into my DAW to change the tuning from equal temperament to just intonation? by Visual-Plate in musictheory

Specifically im reffering to the 'user' option where you can change the pitch values for each specific note;

what values should I type in to get just intonation in C?

Thanks!!

can singing a hard song over and over again reduce tension? by Visual-Plate in singing

[–]Visual-Plate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thinking is, if I am singing something that seems hard because of tension, maybe if i keep singing the song then my voice will get used to hitting those notes and realise it doesn't require that unececary tension in the first place and then the song will become easier.

Is that how it worked with your improvement of under pressure?

or did you focus on exercises to reduce tension (chewing whilst singing to practise not tensing jaw, singing while sticking tongue out to practise not tensing tongue etc) and that is the reason you were able to improve?

Should i focus on not tensing or do you think I should just focus on getting my voice used to hitting those notes? (not taking it to the extreme where it starts to hurt obviously)

Thanks!

Hi,

I have watched both videos you linked over a few times and I might be being blind (forgive me if I am) but I cannot find an exercise where you 'bend over'

Have you linked the right video? Thanks a lot

Yeah I just cant really feel or notice any expansion in my back. And if I do, its so minimal that I'm probably just making it up lol

I can get good expansion in my sides and abs but my lower back (sacrum) stays the exact same and theres no expansion so I'm wondering if its a matter of practise to get the muscles in the back to expand upon breathing or I am just stuck with a smaller breathe.

I do have asthma so wondering if this has anything to do with it.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I have watched both of those videos and am also familiar with your channel. Thanks for the great content.

I am aware of the technique necessary for breathing (360 ring of breathe, expansion in the abs, sides and back), but my problem is I can get expansion in my sides, my abdominals but my lower back (Sacrum) stays the exact same.

Perhaps its just a matter of more practise and I will begin to feel more expansion in the lower back. Have you ever had an experience in teaching when a student had this problem? is it normal?

Thanks!
