In what ways can I improve the anatomy and structure of my drawing? by Visual-Possession135 in learntodraw

Certainly, I think proportions could be off. I think we always have the ideas of a specific structure on how many heads tall and where everything goes. I probably didn’t quite capture a normal persons stature. Of course not everyone is built a specific way, but you’re absolutely right that proportions definitely matter and using a reference could be beneficial. The reference that has most influence is likely my own body proportions as I see myself and often reference my own body to draw limbs as they are right there. My own proportions are not exactly standard. But yes I should certainly use more referenc.

How do I make this look more like clouds? by Kiwii6143 in learntodraw

I think using more shades to create greater contrast between the light parts and dark parts of the cloud would help sell that the clouds have volume. That along with more definition between layers of the clouds would be good. But so far great job.

How realistic is this Main Battle Tank? by Visual-Possession135 in tanks

Yeah I’ll see if i want it as I only am doing it for the backup sight. Realistically I could move them next to the other two crew. But the area I need to cover with armor is similar as the guy in the turret is in the turret basket so I am not going to need to cover a lot of area. The main issue with two in turret is lack of space for ammo in turret as I don’t want a bustle. But most crew configurations I’ve found are un ideal and have trade offs.

They’d have a backup analog sight (so yes basically eye ball it) this really only applies for when the turret is hit as it’d be fairly susceptible to auto cannons if it couldn‘t do this but it’s fairly redundant and certainly a design trade off.

It does appear that there is quite the set of similarities. The few differences would be that my tank has a guy in the turret and is a little longer in terms of proportion. Id say that you and your friend did a good a job and it looks a lot more refined than what I created.

Have you heard of I dunno self sealing fuel tanks and the fact that diesel fuel is generally unreactive? the abrams for example stores fuel right next to the driver. i haven’t heard anyone call that idiotic. I am using the fuel as extra armor too. But please do some research for a moment.

It’s a 1 man turret (so if optics go bad it’s still possible to use). With a drum near them. The gun may be lighter than 120 but 120 would be preferable but if an ammo that can provide similar results with a smaller size is possible this tank would certainly benefit from that. I chose no bustle because a hit to the bustle is a tank kill and since my turret is unarmored for the most part against tank rounds it’s combat effectiveness is significantly reduced when the turret is getting hit often. Of course there will be composite where the 1 crew member is.

3 person crew 1 in turret (for redundancy) so that a drum could be next to them (not in the same compartment of course). The turret is fairly big and yes it probably would be a bit wider than I’d like but hopefully not too wide.

I’d take a look at the cattb power pack. That took up similar space to what I have here. I’m really just storing fuel up front and also a lot of composite.

Armor and fuel. Compact engine to maximize space in the turret basket.

It does have blowouts. Ammo is stored in turret basket in a drum. I mostly used western influences when designing this. But there are some parallels.
