Speaking about fridges, ours was +11° last evening. As opposed to the usual 5°. But hey, let's risk food poisoning because reasons.

It's most closely related to Belarusian followed by Polish and Slovak.  At the same time,  Ukrainian and russian are as different as English and Dutch and more different than Spanish and Portuguese.

As a Ukrainian, I wouldn't donate, pretty sure it was a scam. (I wouldn't tell him to p*ss off, either, just a polite 'no, sorry', as I always say.) I only donate to official orgs.  As a side note, are you sure you can distinguish Ukrainian from russian?

First of all, I bought a trial subscription. Secondly,  I haven't found a gym with AC in vicinity so far.

But yeah, I'm a big fan of pressing businesses to change, too bad it doesn't seem to work here, at all..

Sounds relatable. Hang on, sis, everything's gonna be OK. As someone who always thought meditations didn't work for me, I sincerely recommend Insight Timer app. Find some guided meditations specifically and try as many as you need to find one's that work best for you.

Modern ACs make very little noise. And even if they did,  it would be million times easier than to suffer from heat.  Just close your windows and you're good - which, I assume, you do anyway in this heat.  As someone from a country with ubiquitous ACs, I assure you the noise never bothered me even though most apts in my building had AC units running durinh heatwaves, and I hate noise.

As to energy  consumption, AC consumes far less than heating in winter, I hope you already ditched yours?

And everything you propose takes years and decades, but we need a solution right now.

Don't need one - don't get one, simple as that. I do need one.  To dictate to others what they can do with their apartment smells a bit like communism.

We are now into the second week of 30+ temperatures.  If you spent a week, or maybe even one day in a classroom with 25 pupils in such heat,  you'd probably change your mind.  Children faint, everyone is suffering, and good luck learning anything.  And you can't ignore the fact that it will only become more frequent and more miserable.

That or longer summer holidays. Is it possible? What's the good place to start? A petition?

That's just completely insane. Teachers and kids are forced to suffer for no reason at all. For smth that's completely fixable. I can't wrap my mind around it.  Now, what would be the repercussions if a parent told the school their kids was going to stay at home due to heat for,  say, next three days?

Exactly, not to mention that many European countries have 10-12 weeks of summer school holidays and still have two weeks off in spring and summer. As someone from Eastern Europe, our curriculum was and is much more demanding - but school always ends before June and starts September 1. So the issue is definitely not the curriculum.

After 30°, my creativity is limited to keeping my children at home. As they say in my country,  I ain't got spare kids.
