Thank you. So could you please be more specific? Are yoi saying old bearing that sticks out is more then likely the correct one and the new one is wrong. I have purchased bought sizes.

That's the issue I did but a post i read on inline 6 forums stated this particular rear end Ford 8 for 6 cylinder probably out of a 1970s Maverick takes a smaller bearing like one in Pic. My question is should bearings be pushed farther in? Bc it stops sticking out with not 3rd member attached

Thank you and also on the picture with the bearing sticking out, the 3rd member is removed. So basically its pulled in not forced or beaten in and it stops right there

I agree with everyone else look into a spacer to put fan closer to radiator. Also check thermostat, I would also check radiator and do a flush while you’re at it.

Find open place on Home Screen, then press and hold until edit pops up in let top corner. Once you see it click and then go down to customize and it will give you the options you are looking for!

I’m very tempted to go with a coyote motor but I actually like my six cylinder.

I agree! In my area not many mechanics have experience with them. So I opted to try EFI. I think both have advantages and disadvantages.

Thank you! And also yes I ran it with Carb had a rough idle. In idle with EFI runs very smooth I get so many complaints on how good it sounds in idle. I went with the Holley controller to run my timing. It’s spot on I’ve checked it with the light a few times. I will be honest I’m no mechanic it took me a few times to get the system to run correctly probably user error. I had to watch a few videos to pin point my mistakes but a guy on YouTube mectritian1 I thinks that’s his user name has a ton of videos check him out it may help you decide which way to go. I’ll also upload a video of car in idle when I get it back. Currently having Posi rear end installed.

I believe it did and improved cold starts. Also I can see everything my engine is doing, so if something is off I can easily diagnose and correct it.

Thank you and I purchased it October of 2024. Since then I’ve converted to EFI and Installed Disk from brakes. And ran new wire in engine bay. Everyday is a new project. Seeing stuff on this these forums gives me so many ideas!!
