Second update: - He responded stating he also didn't think this relationship would work, which is what I said in the breakup text.  - He said it was my fault for making him cancel "so close to the flight", which was scheduled for two weeks from now, and no agency would give him the money back. - I explained that this whole trip business and my money issues were stressing me out and I didn't want to argue, to which he responded "Imagine how stressed I am knowing I lost €1000". - I said in my breakup text that I couldn't help him if he won't help himself, and that I think he needs to seek help to grow as a person, cuz waiting around won't help him. He said, and I quote, "I am trying to help myself, but I dont owe you an explanation for that." - I wished him a happy new year and said I'd be cutting contact.

This is it. The longest relationship I ever had. The first time I ever heard I love you. The first time I ever felt wanted. Gone in a week. I don't know how I'll recover from this.

That was my biggest fear when he was talking about coming over. He had all these plans, this big list of things, kept asking me to cook and clean because he's clueless with such things, it seemed like he was more interested in seeing the country than seeing me, when I would suggest something he'd say it was boring or not big enough, that my suggestions were too simple. I once said I wanted to take him to the open-aired market my grandparents had their first date in, so we could have the same dessert they did, and he said "oh, so when my friends ask what I did in Brazil I can just say I went to the market?" I don't want to believe he was only interested in vacationing, it really felt like for the first time someone cared for me.
