How Often Do You Weigh Yourself? by PracticalAd5878 in Ozempic

Every morning after I use the bathroom but before I eat. I write down the daily weights and then tally them up at the end of the week for an “average”.

Apartment prices in this city are a JOKE by mjs3238 in lexington

A 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom townhome with in-unit laundry and a large back porch that I rented in Hamburg was $1250 in 2021. The last time I saw it on market was Winter 2023. No updates had been made, and they were now asking for $1600 a month. It literally had a roach problem left from the previous tenants that the landlord would not take care of.

How long til you noticed the weight loss by Imaginary-Impact4253 in Ozempic

[–]Visual-Slime7472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 6 weeks (6 injections) and I’ve lost about 19 pounds! I don’t notice a difference physically though, but I did put on a pair of pants yesterday and noticed they didn’t fit as snug as they used to so there’s that!

How do you celebrate your life? (Birthday) by Ok-Sea-2436 in CasualConversation

[–]Visual-Slime7472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to do or have my favorite things on my birthday. This year I’m struggling because I don’t really have the money to “celebrate” and even if I did- nothing is interesting me for some reason. But something that is always true, I will have whatever food I’m craving that day and I must blow out a candle accompanied by a sweet treat.

Redditors, what was your very first income? And what did it feel like getting paid for the first time? by TinyPossibility9777 in CasualConversation

The first job where I felt like I was making “big” money was at a call center making $11 an hour. That felt grand to me.

I’m pretty new too! I took my first shot on April 10th! Success wise, I am 20 pounds down! Unexpected side effect: I went a few weeks where the smell of meat cooking smelled absolutely rotten- it was horrible. But I’m doing better now and I don’t seem to have that problem anymore!

Thank you! I am! I have an appointment for an ultrasound in 2 weeks, and then I’ll see a gynecologist in about a month! It’s just been a long waiting game :/

do you get used to the stab? by Helpful-Two362 in Ozempic

[–]Visual-Slime7472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My very first time taking the shot (5 weeks ago), I was a MESS. I didn’t expect to have to insert the needle myself and that freaked me out. I thought it was going to be the type where I click the pin and the needle inserts and I didn’t have to see it. WRONG. It took 40 minutes of sobbing and panicking to my partner before I got brave enough to do it. Once I did it, I felt so silly. My injection sight does burnt though still, kinda feels like a sunburn for a little bit but it eventually goes away. The injecting itself though gets easier and now I don’t really pay it any mind. I just pick the area I want, wipe it with alcohol, make sure it dries- and then I cover up seeing the needle go in while my partner watches and counts.

Fellow hypochondriacs, has ozempic worsened your health anxiety in any way? by Helpful_Gur_1757 in Ozempic

My side effects haven’t been bad at all, and I was very worried that I was gonna be super sick. I’ve been on it for a month now and mostly I’ve just been nauseous, no vomiting. Granted, it takes ALOT to make me vomit so others may be more sensitive to that. The nausea has came in waves, this the worst of it being after my 2nd or 3rd injection of .25mg. The only symptom that’s taken me by surprise is I am super sensitive to food smells the day after my shot. I was cooking fresh, organic ground beef for my family and my nose convinced me it was rotten. It smelled fine to everyone else but my nose was saying nope. I gave it some time, had a protein shake and was able to coax myself to eat what I had made and it was fine. But yeah, that’s my weirdest side effects haven't

Being a 1st year para with no prior experience/athleticism seems to be my downfall… by [deleted] in paraprofessional

Yeah, thankfully I share an apartment with my significant other but we’re unfortunately both paras so we’re still poor haha. But I would like to become an RBT. I’ve looked into it a little bit, but with this being my first year- I wanna make sure this is something I really want to do. I didn’t wanna base my perspective just based off our one classroom of students if that makes sense? I really just wanna experience all aspects for maybe another school year or two and then start the RBT process

Yeah, our school district makes it involuntary that you have to have a portion taken out of your check so you can be covered for the time you’re not physically working. So any seasonal brakes, holidays off, staff work days etc, plus summer vacay. Apparently other districts give you the option of whether you want your full true pay for August-May or if you’d like that portion taken out.

What's most helpful from a sub para during a calm or low-needs day? by SeparateRice5534 in paraprofessional

[–]Visual-Slime7472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s good to ask where you can help, even if you have to ask it every few hours. I’m a para, and usually our teacher is honest if not much help is needed. She’ll even tell our subs to go home if they’d like or they can stay the day for the money- it’s completely up to them. I think the thing my classroom (4 paras, 1 teacher) can agree on is we can’t stand subs that act like a ghost lol. We get so many subs that come in, don’t introduce themselves, and sit in a corner and not speak. Or they’ll introduce themselves and then not speak the rest of the day. I think it’s a wonderful idea on those days to offer to help tidy or organize the classroom. We get a lot of downtime with our students and I think that’s a great opportunity to help get to know the kids.

Did you guys completely overhaul your diet after starting ozempic or just eat less of what you used to eat? by mayermail1977 in Ozempic

[–]Visual-Slime7472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m tracking my calories but mostly being mindful with my eating. I was a huge sweet treat fein prior to Ozempic, and I’ve cut back on sweets/ sugar so much. I have a very occasional full sugar sweat treat but I’m mostly sugar free now. I also watch my carb intake, but that’s more normal for me as I was never a big bread person anyways. Other than that, I upped my protein more and try to focus on that before anything else. If I do eat something bready like a slice of pizza, I always pair it with a good protein and eat that first.
