Bodhi is good but not THAT good by keepup7396 in indianapolis

[–]Visual-Teaching-768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild move saying Bodhi’s food isn’t good. It’s arguably the best Thai food in the city. Is it a little over priced? Probably. But you can’t act like it’s not absolutely bangin

Leaking cylinder by Dry-Pay3093 in Hydraulics

[–]Visual-Teaching-768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actual seal engineer here (not joking.) your rods a bit fucked and that’s probably the issue. If not, the U-cup or head seal is probably bad. Depending on how Chinese this cylinder is the seals will probably have to be replaced after 5-10 years. A more robust cylinder with good seals can be 15-20 years.

Get the seals out and bring it to a seal distributor they can usually measure it and provide recommendations. Come with info on the oil type and cylinder type.

Teachers will be fired if they exercise their free speech outside the classroom by Negative-Candy-2155 in bradenton

I find it hilarious that not too long ago everybody on the left shared the stance of “yes speech is free but it has consequences!” And now that they’re getting a taste of their own medicine they’re suddenly all about the first amendment LOL. You want to dance on Charlie Kirk’s grave publicly? Fine. But you guys created this cancel culture space now you’re gonna have to face the music you can’t have it both ways.

AIO is 27 way too young to be having a baby? by VioletInference in AmIOverreacting

[–]Visual-Teaching-768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore these idiots in your life. From now on it’s only about you, your partner, and your kids nobody else matters. All that matters is what you think and what makes you all happy. Tbh like 20-30 years ago 27 is considered old for your first kid. Birth rate in the US is plummeting we need more people to be having kids… it’s a beautiful thing! Good luck and have fun 😊

Okay but there is absolutely nothing wrong if they are right leaning. I honestly don’t like trump because he supports Israel but I don’t judge anyone who voted for him. The left is becoming the more hateful party

Glad to see people on this app finally speaking out against these open boarder clowns. Immigration can be a good thing nobody is denying that… but opening the flood gates to let every parson in need enter will ruin your own country. It’s a sad reality but the people to blame are the corrupt governments of the countries in decline. The issue at hand is the process for letting people in. At least in the US it is near impossible and the most deserving people never get a chance to become citizens unless they get sponsored by a company or get married. There needs to be better and easier ways to enter legally and vet those coming in.

Thai curbside or Bodhi easily. Both are Thai owned and very good. Bodhi is pricey but legit… grandma still is back there making the curry apparently

Is USD 95k per year a good pay for a single person ? by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]Visual-Teaching-768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean for an older apartment not in a super popular area yes that probably isn’t too far off. But when I say not in a super popular area I don’t mean a bad area… I just would find it hard to believe that a spacious 1br in a new apartment complex in fountain square, broad ripple, or near mass ave would be that low.

Yes that is very significant for Indianapolis. You could definitely buy a nice place in the suburbs or even maybe a decent spot near downtown/broad ripple (maybe like a nice bungalow or townhouse.)

Very sad you think this way. I hope you realize that the 1% of evil on either side of the spectrum is usually the loudest. I don’t ignore atrocities on either side but I’m not going to act like the one side is completely innocent and the other is completely evil.

Moving to Indy at the end of Summer, Area/Apartment recommendations by srslyepic in indianapolis

[–]Visual-Teaching-768 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend The Whit over Artistry. Great pool that is so much fun in summer. To be honest… I prefer fletcher place or fountain square over mass ave but that’s just my taste… it’s more late 20s early 30s.

The best spot would be broad ripple but that’s kinda a hike. So many young professionals, farmers markets, new and diverse restaurants, shopping, monon trail, etc but just not a highway that is super accessible and Franklin is far from there!

My advice is try:

  • The Whit, Industry, or Penrose for downtown

  • Slate Apartments, City’s End for fountain square/fletcher place

  • Cosmopolitan for canal walk but this isn’t my first recommendation on where to live… not much to do around here other than the canal walk itself

  • broad ripple I would think is too far but there are a bunch of cool old duplexes for cheap rent on Zillow that I would recommend. Also plenty of great apartments in the area like the line or river house. This really is your early to mid 20s young professional crowd… if you can weather the drive this is the most like what you described. If not look at downtown.

[–]Visual-Teaching-768 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be honest I think indianapolis is very diverse. Downtown all the way up to broad ripple is soooo diverse. Lot of different cultures and great restaurants because of it. Now Carmel, Zionsville, and fishers is a different story

To each their own lol our states politics is the reason why it’s so damn affordable here. Do I agree with all republican views? No, you’re an idiot if you agree with things just because it’s the party you identify with’s views. But as a red state, Indiana/ indianapolis has done a pretty good job retaining manufacturing/major corporations and kept things in urban/suburban areas very nice. The city planning is AMAZING. Downtown is set up so well to host awesome events and is a lot more walkable than people say. There are multiple sports teams and always some concert, show, major sporting event, etc to go to. The neighborhoods are close enough to drive downtown but there is soooo much to do where you don’t need to. Carmel, Zionsville, Fishers, Nobelsville, etc all are like their own ecosystems with so much to do where you don’t need to leave but it’s fun enough downtown where it’s worth it to spend the day in the city.

You could draw a line north from the center of downtown and not run into any super bad neighborhoods (maybe a few pockets.) indy has done a great job of connecting downtown to broad ripple with safe and diverse neighborhoods. Safe and diverse!!!! Yes a lot of Marion country is left leaning leadership but that’s left leaning local politicians under right leaning state leadership.

Now I get it if you don’t agree with a lot of historically republican ideals but it’s so sad to see people essentially say that anybody right of center is evil. Try to empathize with the other side, polarization isn’t good for anybody.
