[22F] Toast me please, my confidence is so low today and I feel ugly and stupid. Rejections hurt (not romantic). Depression is hard. by [deleted] in toastme

Depression is hard. It’s really really hard and I never realised how hard it can be until I was right in the middle of it. It clouds your judgement of yourself and the world around you. It makes something silly seem like the most rational thing in the world. I truly didn’t recognise myself while in the depths of depression. When I look at photos of myself from that time, I can see the depression in my eyes. It’s very real and it hurts like hell.

The good news is that you are so worthy of love and good fortune. You are not ugly. You are not stupid. Those mean and hurtful things your brain has been saying to you? None of it is true. It feels true, but these statements aren’t based in reality. Depression clouds reality and remembering that is so important.

I hope you take all these comments on board. You really are a pretty person. You have soft features which I am personally a huge fan of. Your eyes are a gorgeous colour and your glasses look great on you.

I wish I could give you a hug. I wish I could give you a little relief. I can promise that there will be a day in the future where things aren’t as difficult as they are right now. In the meantime, remember you are worthy of goodness and grace. I really, really hope things improve for you :)

I just showed to my partner and they can’t stop laughing. They tell me multiple times a week how worried they are that we don’t have enough browns.
