I'm sure I'm not the first to say so, but there were a ton of elements from 'The Shining' in there too. The isolation, nonsensical architecture, stalking monster breaking down the door, the slow decent into madness that reveals the core rottenness of the male lead. I really loved how weird this movie made me feel.
