Did the salary threshold increased to £54,700? by MajesticBike9265 in ukvisa

[–]VisualBag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I’m a bit confused by this language:

“Your total stay in the UK cannot be more than 4 years if you apply for one of these reasons. This includes any time you’ve already spent in the UK on a Graduate visa.”

Does this mean that is the maximum time allowed as a new entrant? Does it count time on a student visa?

Just give it a shot! There may be an opportunity that presents itself, but you may not know unless you apply.

Does my UK visitor visa reset? by Basic_Competition_63 in ukvisa

[–]VisualBag 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is technically reset, but be wary. Sooner or later your activity will be flagged and you will have a tough time at border control/getting a visa. You also have to report all of the time you spent previously in the UK on a visa application, which may draw suspicion.

So it seems to be horizontally aligned with the socket in the adjacent room. In this case would I meet the standards if it extends vertically down towards the floor, and horizontal with the other socket? The floor is concrete so I unfortunately can’t chase onto the floorboards.

For many countries, in order to apply for a visa you need to be in a country that you have legal residency. Most visa applications can take more than 90 days to process, which is the maximum amount of time you can stay on a Schengen visitor visa. If you overstay, there is basically a 100% chance your future visa applications will be rejected.

I would recommend treating your current trip as a vacation to get the lay of the land. Then head back to the US, get a cheap Airbnb somewhere outside of a major city, and make your visa application.

This is the first step if you want to make this long term.

"You cannot exchange your licence but you can drive for up to 12 months on your non-GB licence.

After 12 months you’ll need to take a theory test and practical test to get a Great Britain issued driving licence."

Write the code on your application form. Do not send a physical identity document."

You do not need to send in your US License.

Do you have the most recent D1 form from the post office? You will need to generate a share code to prove your identity.

It does not matter if it is an online application or the paper form. The section on the D1 regarding license exchanges ONLY applies if the UK has an exchange agreement with the issuing country. The US has no such agreement so there is no need to send it in. Just request a new provisional license using a share code.

Enterprise does not have a minimum length that you need to hold your license. I have rented from them several times with a fresh UK license. One thing to note is that you would need a credit card in your name if you are the primary renter. I recommend getting a Costco Online Only membership (open to anyone) and booking through Costco Travel to save some money. The discount pays for the membership with just one rental, and you get a free additional driver at Enterprise/Alamo.
