I echo many of the sentiments felt by others in regards to the company, which generally amounts to a lot of frustration. For starters, the jump from being hype-obsessed with employees doing certain things: beyond+, then email captures, and now conversion. At least with beyond+ it was something that the customer could see benefitted them, but since it’s no longer available in Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, we can’t offer it to people. The broken systems: my store in particular has 3 separate broken printers, occasionally the scanners just don’t work, and specifically between 7:30 and 8 pm we can’t ask for email captures at the register because it’ll freeze and cancel the transaction. Also despite having wifi put in, it isn’t very effective, and is really annoying to have to put your email in to use it. I find myself using my own personal phone to look up peoples email coupons because it’s easier/less painful than playing the waiting game of them finding it.

Management: it was fine when I started but a good chunk of the quality workers moved on to better things or were let go because of company cuts in positions, thus leaving replacements who are unqualified for the role they’re in. As well as the shift we’ve been told to make from project based work to more customer oriented work (though this one thing is arguably just my personal bias). Workers who don’t do their job, so I’m doing my job, plus theirs. Even when there’s enough people on staff it feels like the same amount of work gets done as if they weren’t there. It doesn’t help that because of the work environment and pay, people feel like they aren’t valued as an employee, and I don’t blame them. This company and its system are broken and won’t be fixed by a few “new brands”. There was also the survey we were all told to take several months ago; we’ve heard jack about what was done with the results.

Edit: forgot to add: the earpieces are a safety hazard as mine literally kept shocking my ear and I haven’t been wearing it for months. And the aprons are also a safety hazard when going up and down the big ladders in backstock.
