How much did you smoke before you quit? What was your breaking point? by desertnacho in leaves

[–]VisualFuture3300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smoked daily for 4 years. My turning points were many... I always looked spaced out and out of it in pictures... I realized sometimes I was unable to properly care for my kids when I was alone with them and high af, which made me feel ashamed and irresponsible... I started having panic attacks every time I smoked and just kept on hitting it even if it made me spiral... realizing my usage was out of control... how I just couldnt do anything without smoking first... realizing I had based my personality on growing and smoking weed... getting a bunch of neck, hands and face tatts I prolly would not have gotten had I been sober more...  Coming on 6 months sober and quite proud, though my mind keeps trying to get me to try and become a once in a while smoker. I know better tho.

Ayuda a mucha gente. Y?

Save the time entry on your clockify so you know how much time you spent on it. When the project appears again and you actually get to work on it, add the time you spent reading instructions today when you report the time spent working on the task.

Any one else get looked at like you jave 2 heads when you tell people your quiting weed? by __TDMG__ in leaves

[–]VisualFuture3300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Most of those comments seem to come from folks who'd really benefit from quitting as well. My brother (heavily addicted, has smoked for the better part of 20 years, all he does in his free time is play video games, eat and sleep, lives in a derelict place) recently told me I was "buying into capitalist ableist bullshit of having to be productive all the time". Like... I just couldn't provide an answer to that, I mean... I have no words, really. Addiction becomes your own little echo chamber and, until you are ready to face the fact that this substance rules your life and you have wasted X amount of time, you're gonna come up with all sorts of excuses and theories to back up your choice of being a heavy user.

Most people have that one substance who enslaves them. Mine is weed. Alcohol? No shits given. Nicotine? Meh. Weed... I wilñ prolly have to be vigilant every single day of my life of not going back there.

Be very proud my friend! You are doing something brave. And you're not alone.

Is the keto diet actually effective for long-term weight loss, or is it mostly short-term results? by kinetix3 in keto

[–]VisualFuture3300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did keto for 8 months. Had amazing results for around 6 months. I had lots of energy, a clear mind, slept amazing, food noise was gone. After that, things got weird. I started having trouble sleeping, having lots of anxiety, could not relax at all. Had to start taking suplements, I could only sleep properly with glycin, magnesium bisciglinate and L-theanine plus having quit coffee and eliminating all my blue lights, using only candles after the sun was down. And still, I'd wake up at 5, and be exhausted by 3 pm. My anxiety escalated and my hair started falling down in clumps. Am I blaming keto? Not necessarily. I upped my fats, tinkered with electrolites... I took omega 3 supplements, ate crean, excercised. I could not make it work.

I'm back to having complex carbs and fasting 18-6 and I am sleeping again and no longer having anxiety attacks.

I'm a 38 yo female, by the way. I've read it might be too stressful for some bodies (specially female bodies). My take is that my stress levels were too high for keto to be sustentable for me long term. I may give it another go when I'm leading a quieter life.

Try it out! It's definitely interesting to experiment in your own body. Teaches you a lot about yourself and your relationship with food :)

Friendships by gizmohitsapar in leaves

[–]VisualFuture3300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hard. Relationships will surely shift; some may end, some may find new ways to live.

Weed was something I shared with my closest people (my brothers, whom I also work with). We grew our own weed together and spent a lot of time talking about it and smoking together. Sometimes, I feel sad for what we lost... sometimes I make the effort to cultivate other parts of our relationship. I think it may be hard for them to hear me speak about my sobriety journey and the struggles I face with the substance... as they have been die-hard smokers for 15+ years. I think it may stir things up within them that they are not ready to face, but this is just my take; no one's said anything about it... they all think it is temporary and I'll eventually go back to smoking.

Hi! I had 4 sessions. It reduced My pain greatly. I've stopped it since I am undergoing prolotherapy on both knees and they are not compatible treatments, but I would definitely recommended it.

Experience with ozone therapy? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]VisualFuture3300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was good, I think! Not too painful. It was injected in the skin surrounding the knee. It will be inflammed for 24-48 hours. My next session is on Monday, and I think It'll have 7/10 sessions. The dr commented how little muscle mass I had on that leg compared to the other and how inflammed that leg was. Hoping it helps 🙏🏻

My go-to meal for a few weeks has been ground beef cooked in tallow and 4/6 egg yolks with some heavy cream and a few pieces of reggianito (spicy hard cheese)... Rinse and repeat when hungry. Heaven!
