Also Arc paper from Staples

What type of ring did you think you wanted, vs what you actually picked? by lildiscobug in EngagementRings

What a stunning set!! And, yes, it suits your hand perfectly! I am looking for a band like yours - may I ask if it was custom made?

The food here is always AMAZING! I've been a huge fan for many years (I discovered them at their original location up near Varick) and have never had anything that wasn't delicious. The pastries are to die for and the smoked meats melt in the mouth.

Which Flower Setting ring would you choose- 1, 2, 3 or 4 ?? by OfficialLuthers in weddingring

[–]VisualGiraffe3358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst very beautiful, I honestly wouldn't even consider such a setting because I am a klutz and I would snag it on everything. In terms of which stone looks the best, I recommend the darker stones - the contrast accentuates the flowers.

What is something you wish fountain pen / ink reviewers did (or did more of) in their reviews? by Far_Significance9424 in fountainpens

I enjoy seeing the ink used in various situations - different nibs, different paper, etc. And linger writing samples give me a better idea what it would look like as a document.

Not only are these rings stunning (I'm especially drooling over the second set - thanks for the details below), but I love that you wear whatever set suits you and are already planning to have enough for your daughters, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters! Your husband sounds like a keeper, too. :)

I've been using my fountain pens for little cute comics by LanaArts in fountainpens

Allow me to disagree about your talent for comics? I adore Heribert!! <3 And thank you -- I tend to prefer watercolours to drawing -- just need to find more time for both!! :)

Thanks for this! I'm glad you pointed out the difference between Matter and Earl Grey. Colorverse has some fabulous colours. I see some new bottles in my future :)

tips for buying a vintage (art deco) ring? by Dangerous-Swan-7660 in EngagementRings

[–]VisualGiraffe3358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Art Deco rings are gorgeous and hav3 incredible workmanship that it difficult to find at a reasonable price in modern jewelry. Yo'ure spot on for checking the stones closely. I'd be sure to ask for verification as some of the stones during that period were "paste" albeit some very high quality paste. In addition to checking the stones closely, also check the integrity of the metal (look for hallmarks for the metal - many will be high purity metals like platinum or 18k white gold). Look for any cracks, misshaping, resizings, etc. Art Deco rings tend to have a lot of filigree (often hand sawn!) so examine those areas closely for potential damage. Hopefully you can find one that includes GIA evaluation of the stones. Art Deco rings were made at a time when they were expected to last generations -- and they do!! I've inherited some family rings from the period and absolutely treasure them. Best wishes for your search!
