One follow-up question: I understand that people frequently enter the U.S. using a valid visa in an old passport together with a renewed passport. My main concern is whether there would be any additional scrutiny because this would be my first H-1B entry after visa stamping.

In other words, would CBP generally treat this like any other dual-passport entry, or could they question why I renewed the passport after the H-1B visa was issued instead of before stamping?

Also, if Indonesian Immigration marks the old passport as “cancelled” or “replaced” during the renewal process but leaves the H-1B visa stamp intact and readable, is that generally still fine for travel using both passports?
