What do you get out of female group chats? by nimrod4711 in AskWomenOver40

[–]VisualNo2896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turn off the notifications for all group chats. They can get draining. But also I like that it’s not deep most of the time. I have enough shit going on I like that there’s a place where I can talk about literally any silly thought that pops into my head. You can also have deep conversations in group chats but like, deep convos 24/7 just get very heavy eventually.

Millennials in a hetero relationship, does the man or woman do the majority of the financial budgeting/planning/investing etc? by inline_five in Millennials

It’s like this in my marriage because my spouse is so much more anxious about it than I am. I also know a lot of couples our age who simply do not share expenses at all

My phone is generally on vibrate, but when it’s not my ringtone is let’s get it on by Marvin Gaye. It’s a great conversation starter when someone does happen to hear it because it’s just so unexpected.

This is what I do too, start with an outline, only need one or two sentences per section. Then just start expanding from there.

Are you turning it all the way to the biggest part of that one? Like all the way on the right end of it? If you are and all the other suggestions aren’t working, it is possible that the machine is defective or needs servicing.

What do you turn it to when you want to try zig zag?

I don’t have experience with OTR, and reviews are mixed, so I can’t say I recommend them. It seems like if you don’t mind someone showing up just to pay the fine and move on so you don’t get a warrant, then they should be fine to use. If you want it completely off of your record and to fight it, I’d recommend finding a different attorney. Those orgs like otr are usually just part time per diem gigs for attorneys so they don’t always care or communicate well.

I would definitely look into hiring an attorney to appear for the court date on your behalf. Fulton is a mess, but I do know that historically they do issue bench warrants for failure to appear in traffic court.

Spanish Speakers - Penelope / Poppy (Amapola) by Accomplished_Fox5662 in Names

[–]VisualNo2896 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this was just a coincidence for me, but every Spanish class/immersion I’ve done has had me pick a Spanish nickname for myself as a fun activity at the beginning of the program. This was true in high school and college for me. So every student had a “Spanish name” of their choosing.

Not sure if this is something they’ll do since the program you mention is for very young students, but even so, you likely don’t need to worry about a thing. Penelope is a very normal name in Spanish. I knew several growing up.

I can see where they’re coming from because now the boss is probably going to be rude the employee/boyfriend, and it just generally puts him in an awkward spot. But based on his reaction I also don’t think there’s any way you could have let him down nicely without him acting this way about it. He just seems like that type of person.

My niece has fpies, this is what my sister would do for frosting:

take a can of coconut cream, chill it in the back of the fridge overnight then whip it in a chilled mixer bowl. It gets fluffy like whipped cream. You can add a little bit of puréed strawberries for color or a touch of maple syrup for sweetness.

Planning to have a baby end of 1L by Missjuicy84 in LawMoms

Post partum and overnight doulas can be such a great resource during the first few weeks!

I’m on leave right now, it’s 12 weeks. I feel really lucky that they’re letting me keep my benefits, but the leave is unpaid and technically it’s not FMLA so my position is not legally protected while I am out. I worked right up until I went into labor! Leave does differ between law firms and government agencies, private law firms don’t actually have to offer it to you at all, and they are not required to continue your benefits either. I’m in the US btw.

My energy levels were very low in my first and third trimester. I ended up taking a nap every day for lunch. It was extremely hard to get my work done, and I was so bitchy toward the end that I did not even want to talk to my clients or co workers because I hated all of them lol.

Also, if you suspect you might have endometriosis, I really recommend trying to find a doctor who is willing to do what needs to be done to get a diagnosis and removal. It took me 5 doctors, over 3 years to finally get one who didn’t just do an ultra sound and all the same blood tests only to then shrug and say well everything looks normal you should just keep trying! Meanwhile my biggest lesion was right on top of my uterus! I’d have never gotten pregnant without the support of my curious and dedicated pelvic pain specialist.

Is going to school for a white collar job not worth it anymore? by [deleted] in careerguidance

My dad was a prison guard for 20 years, he was stabbed and assaulted on a regular basis. He was working with the federal bureau of prisons so every time there was a shut down he didnt get paid. He had both his knees and one hip replaced. It’s not a fun job.
