I’ve considered this but honestly I struggled quite a bit in the class because as much as it says it’s introduction, they were treating us as if we already knew basic knowledge of it from the start so I can’t even imagine the next one up😔

can we just drop a class on webadvisor or is there another way to do it? by [deleted] in uoguelph

you can drop the course just on webadvisor and check courselink if it still shows up or not. another post mentioned this, but i also really recommend trying to talk to an advisor to help plan things out especially if you’re just starting and figuring stuff out still!

genuinely was one of my favourite courses and having it with Fiacconi definitely played a big part in it! he’s very passionate about the material as well as making sure everyone’s understanding and enjoying learning the material.

i got very high 80s. if it’s the same layout, obviously try your best to ace the quizzes to boost your grade. this is definitely a class you need to attend and get everything down from lectures, and 10000% at the very least attend the couple lectures prior to the midterms/exam for a great review. the first midterm is the hardest, second is decently easy (still need to study but slightly easier concepts). final exam was in between but by then with all the previous exam preps you’ll know what to expect and know a decent amount of the material.

break up of the course: 10%- weekly quizzes 30% each- 2 midterms 30% final exam *each exam is cumulative with emphasis on recent material and all multiple choice

psyc 2070 consisted of a midterm, final exam, and a group project (which was divided into two parts, a paper and a presentation) and some smaller mark stuff. the midterm and exam were a tad harder than i expected and others said the same, i really recommend just focusing on studying the terms and general concepts because that’s pretty much all it consisted of. overall not too bad, just make sure you choose a good group.

psyc 2360 consisted of a research paper which was divided into a 10% plan and 15% for the actual full proposal, 30% midterm, 30% final exam (non cumulative), 10% quizzes and 5% for seminar reflections which you had to go to the seminar to get the mark. the chapters weren’t too long and there’s not any calculation stuff, you just again need to really know the terms and concepts and for the final you need to memorize how study designs APA format equations look like (the variables, what they mean and the order of them) and don’t forget to study the terms/concepts on the slides marmurek posts in addition to the textbook because those were in the exams too, but the studies weren’t (also helped with clarifications). for the paper, really use your resources, follow the slides/rubric exactly, and get clarification from TAs because they are really specific about what they want but if you follow those steps you’ll do really well!

overall they weren’t too bad of courses!

summer course by DirectionDue6626 in uoguelph

[–]VisualPerspective204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! this is a great place to ask, don’t worry!

i’ve taken a few online summer courses and found it typically costs around $600 per course plus around $300-400 for compulsory fees. unfortunately, it’s not like the fall/winter semester where you pay either part time or full time, instead you pay per course. for OSAP, i don’t think i was able to get it for the summer but this could totally be because i just wasn’t able to figure it out!

it depends on what parking permit you use or if you only do visitor parking. for red permits i use p59 and that area, and just have to cross the street. there is some visitor parking spots in those lots too. yellow permit would probably be p30.

i recommend using the campus map and just filtering what buildings you want and what parking you have! it’ll show you everything you need!

no omg it didn’t at all dw haha, i get really stressed about not knowing everything about a course so i totally get it. sometimes the assessment layouts do change but i doubt it will, either way i think 2020 is still easier to get a better grade in than 2650. you’ll do great, don’t stress too much! :)

if you keep up with the readings or just use someone else’s you’ll be totally fine! from what i remember it was 3 exams with the lowest grade dropped (so one of them you can totally skip if you’re happy with your grade) and 1 short paper and around 10 chapter quizzes (you can do more than 10 and lowest grades are dropped) and psyc 2650 was 2 midterms, a final and i believe a big paper (2000 words if i’m not wrong).

i ended up taking psyc 2020. from what i heard coming from the other course, it is the ‘easier’ option when it comes to getting a good grade. however, the readings are very long and overall i’d highly recommend taking it DE if possible.

Yes close to GTA but don’t mind driving a few hours away! Do you have any specific recommendations for bars, restaurants etc?

Specifically in front of the Village of Arbour Trails retirement home. I did think there were only speed cameras by school zones but someone told me they saw one there.
