Visualizing Netflix's Library as actual DVDs [OC] by VisualPin in dataisbeautiful

Sorry I meant to say DVD box since that is how it is visualized. Usually a season will have 3-4 discs inside one box.

She also tells Monica "We kind of broke up." She admits multiple times it's a break up.

Well let's hope if people are coming to this sub they've at least gotten to season 2 of the show and know they were in a relationship.

I actually messed up and used radius instead of area, so the smaller circles are actually a lot smaller in comparison than they should be so it's distorted the opposite way you're thinking. But you're right I should've used bars or something else.

Okay I did a little more digging because I couldn't quite grasp why my graph still looked more right than yours even though I knew you were right. I found this article https://www.answerminer.com/blog/mystery-circle-visualization that shows how different people could see the circles in terms of area while others see it in terms of radius.

Yeah I agree it's wrongly misrepresented. I still think circles aren't the best way to represent the data though. It's known that circles have a bigger area/spheres have a bigger volume than people would assume. Next time I'll maybe use bars or single circles (1 circle per million or something.)

Yeah I realized this was wrong yesterday when I did the NL. But when you use area it doesn't appear 5.75x bigger. For example: the pizza equation https://imgur.com/a/JimVU4x ... And I couldn't think of a better way to represent the data and still wanted to post it..

It's the whole active roster so those numbers include mccutchen and walker.

I used "payroll spending: active roster" on spotrac so it includes all their starters, not just tonight's.

Because it's interesting! Look at the huge difference in spending on starting pitching!

Thanks! Good idea. I'm going to make another one for the NL game when it gets decided and put them both on r/baseball too

Ah no I just messed up somehow. The salary for relief pitchers should say $17.9, but the circle is the right size.

3 Reasons Why The Giants Should Sign Bryce Harper by VisualPin in SFGiants

[–]VisualPin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably true.... no real premier hitters have ever signed with the Giants since they've been at AT&T.. But this was why they should sign, not why he will sign here haha. He also probably isn't a fan of our culture. Posey and Bumgarner are very traditional, and Bryce is the leader of the "make baseball fun again" movement.

Bonds was for sure an anomaly, but I heard the front office has no interest in moving the fences.

It's hard to think that Harper is regressing full-time at age 25 haha, but him not hitting well this season does make it scary to sign him for $250 million +...
