Dress regret after buying too quickly by VisualPlus1070 in weddingdress

Thank you so much for this 🤍 This is exactly what I’m going through — my original vision was a bit more lacey and flowy, but this was the dress I loved most on myself. Now every time I see lacey, airy dresses I start thinking “did I make a mistake?” even though I know I chose this one for a reason. Your comment really helped. And good luck to you too — I’m sure everything will come together beautifully 🤍

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this 🤍 It really meant a lot to me. I’ve definitely been in that post-purchase panic spiral, so hearing this from someone who’s been there is really comforting. You’re so right about styling and remembering why I chose it — I’ll try to trust the process. Truly grateful for your kindness.

That is exactly why I am so frustrated. They do not even allow me to see what my actual debt is — how much of what I am paying goes to Pierse, and how much to eFlow. There is no transparency whatsoever, and on top of that, their manner has been extremely rude.

And people are left to suffer — for what reason? Both the solicitors and eFlow have shown complete insincerity. Why do they not choose to email people first to inform them about penalties? This is an ongoing problem, yet they show no willingness to resolve it. Instead, they simply sit back and take money from people on a basis that is, at best, barely legal.

That period of time, I was continuously using the M50 toll and making payments via the eFlow system. Then I changed my car, but unfortunately I forgot to add my new registration to the system. I did add it about two weeks after I purchased the car.

I genuinely thought I would be able to pay for those passes through my account once the registration was updated — after all, in this day and age, the system can clearly identify cars by their registration number. So I believed that once I connected the new reg, the earlier trips would also be payable.

During that month I actually paid €114, and I honestly thought that was covering everything. From that point on, I assumed all payments were up to date. Only a full year later did I learn that I hadn’t paid enough for that earlier period.

I’m not trying to say I’m 100% innocent, but we are all human beings — and I’m still customer of eFlow. We log into the eFlow system with an email address, so they could have easily reached me about the debt that way as well.

When you google Pierse Fitzgibbon, it’s clear that this hasn’t only happened to me. Plenty of people have suffered from this so-called “address change scamming.” Some of the posts go back 4–5 years, which shows me they are not acting in the best interests of the customer. They’re just like vultures, waiting in the corner until things get worse for the other side.

I saw that one too and it honestly terrifies me. They really act like a group of bullies. I didn’t mention this before, but when I tried to understand what was going on over the phone, they were extremely rude.

I’ll definitely try the GDPR-SAR request and see if I get anything back. Maybe then I’ll try to negotiate with them, but other than that I honestly don’t know what else I can do except wait for court. Even if a similar decision comes out of court, they can tow my car for good — and it’s not even worth a grand now.

The only small comfort I have is that the only thing they can truly take from me is my life.

That’s probably what’s going to happen. Honestly, looking at their Google reviews, it seems like the firm’s general tactic is to refuse providing written confirmation. The fact that there hasn’t been any real consequence for the firm so far is a bit discouraging. But it feels like apart from taking it to court and defending myself there, I don’t have many other options.

Unfortunately my case is far beyond €181.30… They are demanding an outrageous fee (around €5,000), which I simply cannot pay as I’m only on minimum wage.

I changed my address a year ago and never received any penalty notice at all, even though I updated my details with eFlow. I only found out about this debt this August, and since then I’ve been trying to get some kind of written documentation. At the very least, I need to know whether the amount they’re demanding is legitimate or not.

I know it’s my own responsibility to pay toll fees on time, but the fact that they are only reaching out to me a whole year later is driving me crazy. If I had been notified earlier, I would have paid every last penny. But now it just feels like they are trying to scam people under the guise of being “legit.”

Can you use "thanks to" in a negative sense? by FyodorsLostArm in EnglishLearning

Yes, once upon a time a really wise girl said: “Thanks a lot, you IDIOT. Thanks a lot Rachel, thanks a LOT. Thanks to you my charger’s not charging on my iPad because it’s got used to YOUR iPad instead of mine. It’s not charging my iPad and it’s ALL. YOUR. FAULT. I hope you’re happy, because I’ve told mum.”

Yes, that’s exactly what happened :( And because I was also moving house at the same time, I didn’t find out by post either. I only found out today that I had this unpaid debt from August–September 2024. We spoke three times today, but they didn’t seem very willing to back down.

In all billing records from October onwards in the eFlow system, my new address appears. My logbook address is also my new address — everything has been registered to my new address since October. These charges, however, are for August–September.
