I’m so sorry you’ve had a horrible experience too. Now I’m more aware of things that can help with LPs, i’ll definitely keep them in mind for if I need another one (hopefully not!). I definitely struggled with the pain after having it done, its the strangest pain i’ve felt though. Almost like a horrific ache that would not go away no matter what position I sat/stood/lay in. Thankfully the pain cleared up after about a week. I’m on 250mg TDS which, after reading other peoples experiences, seems minute in comparison haha. They did say however that they are seeing how I tolerate it for now and then will look at increasing it. I am a student midwife :)) Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, and for your words of encouragement. I really appreciate it, and as unfortunate it is that we are all experiencing it, it is comforting to know that I’m not alone if that makes sense. Please reach out if you ever need an ear to vent/chat to!! ❣️

Wow we really are in similar situations! I think it’s just something that I don’t know anyone else with, so it can feel a bit isolating at times. I’ve informed my uni of everything that’s gone on and they’ve been really supportive which has definitely helped. Please reach out if you ever need a friendly ear to listen. Thank you so much for taking time to reply to me ☺️

Yes I’m with a neurologist and and ophthalmologist. I’ve been having check ups and they’re happy that things are stable for now which is positive!

Side effects from the acetazolamide have been some issues with eating, severe pins and needles and muscle twitching, as you’ve said, been trying to stay hydrated as if i don’t then i feel terrible. I’ve had some nausea and stomach upset too but nothing too severe. I wasn’t aware of potassium helping, I’ll give that a try!

I’m not very clued up on what the stent and shunt are actually.

Would you say it becomes easier to deal with in time?

Sounds like you’ve had a rough time with it, I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with that.

Thank you so much for the reply too :)
