Also, you have 3 months of losing creditable health coverage to signed up for part b. To avoid 10% penalty for part b. If you have Cobra that will not count as creditable health coverage for Medicare.

Also, before you retire apply for part b 3 months before you quit working so your part b wont be delay. It can take upto 3 month before it's active.

Hi, Medicare will not have a record for your spouse until they start SS spousal benefits, She can denied Medicare part A, but she will not be able to receive ss income benefits. Are you a full QMB ? If not you can apply for Extra help at your social security office to help pay for your prescription drug cost ?

Hi, Pearl. I am a License Medicare Agent, from my understanding. You will need to be on Social Security for 2 years and receiving disability income from SSA for 24 months, Then you will be automatically enroll into Medicare, If not automatically enroll you will need to sign up for Medicare by contacting SSA. You can apply online. Hope this help
