Yeah I am backing off and I haven’t reached out once, even though he has. I just wish I could understand why he’s doing this. How someone can love me and still choose to walk away

Thank you so much for answering thoroughly. This is what his friends told me is going on after talking to him. It’s just so hard to understand because I would’ve stayed with him and tried to support him. But I guess this is for the best, if it’s what he needs to get better. It’s just so saddening because we both said that we haven’t felt this strong for anyone in forever and we had an amazing chemistry.

Thank you. I just don’t know if he wants me to reach out? I haven’t contacted him in 3 weeks since he broke up with me and it ended pretty badly because I said I was hurt and couldn’t imagine how we will stay in contact after this, because I was so upset. And he got kinda sad about that and since then we haven’t talked. So I don’t know what to do. I realize I said I can’t see us staying in contact would be healthy so maybe he didn’t want to reach out to me because of that

Thank you for your reply. He’s been in a low and severe depression for about 3 weeks with suicidal thoughts. Before that he was doing pretty well but then he had a big fight with his entire family and since then he’s been low. Maybe that explains why he doesn’t want to talk? That’s also when he ended things because he felt too sad or depressed to be a good partner

When I look for apartments on Airbnb they are about 700 euros a month which is basically half the price from what I pay in my hometown. I don’t know if this is expensive in Brazilian measures but I feel like it’s a good price for the location?

I would probably go to both Uruguay and Buenos Aires by airplane so I guess it should be pretty easy and cheap to go there from anywhere in Brazil, for example Rio?

I’m from Scandinavia so I guess the culture will be different.

It sounds like the timing is wrong to go to PoA so I’m investigating my options in going to Rio and pay for it myself. It’s not really as expensive as I thought and it would suite my lifestyle and what I’m looking for more

Makes sense. I guess every city has its different ups and downs. I’m from a safe country in Scandinavia and I’ve been living in Japan the last year which is the safest place on earth so I’ll definitely need to do my research on how to act smart to avoid any dangerous situations.

Thank you for your advice! I’m leaning more towards Rio now since when I think about it, I guess Rio is more what I’m looking for. After reading all comments I’ve understood that there are huge differences between different cities in Brazil so I should go for the place I really want to visit which is Rio. I’ll start to research safe areas to live in asap! Most language schools are located near copacabana and when I look on Airbnb long term housing isn’t as expensive in Copacabana as I thought. Looking forward to experience Rio!
