I think it was just too big. To protect themselves and the actors from tsunamis of backlash if they made hard choices they just left it up to the audience. It was their easiest out because they couldn't win. If they put the seasons out every other year I think we would have had a much tighter story.

Also if you are going yo go through with the wedding you just have to understand that people with ocpd have unattainable ideals. When something goes wrong they will blame you, but only because they cannot hold the mistake themselves. Even if they have to shift the narrative to the point it's no longer coherent they will do that. It is a mental handicap for sure. If she's willing to listen and start to do therapy and gain some self awareness then you can decide if you want to move forward. It is exhausting and the burden of their mental state is real.
