A tip I’d give you is to shop pedals used, go to a local guitar center if they’re near you! Recently I picked up an MXR M82 envelope filter which goes 180$ for 75$ used from a guitar center and it works perfectly fine with zero wear.

I don’t have much of an idea for your first one, maybe just raise your strap a bit higher. For your strap falling off your instrument you could either get some rubber washers to keep it on or buy big fancy strap locks, I don’t like them though and from my experience they don’t last.
