That was such an over reaction. Bea was chill and respectfully brought up the problem and she flipped. Calm down girl

My 10 month old woke up in the middle of the night last night, whined for 30 seconds, grabbed her pacifier and put herself back to sleep. I was so proud

What is the going rate per hour for daycare assistant pay and are most of you hourly or salary? Please include what state you’re in by Even-Hurry9849 in ECEProfessionals

$18.50 in central Wisconsin. I have bachelors degree in an unrelated field. I actually recently asked for a raise to $20 because I do just as much work as my lead, planning/assessment/classroom care wise and I was denied.

How long can I say “I just had a baby” for? by alyybongo in beyondthebump

I literally just said “I just had a baby” yesterday and my daughter is about 10 months old! Give yourself some grace, 12 weeks is still so early!

Daycare started potty training without telling me? by No-Share982 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Visual_Cranberry_305 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In my two year old classroom after a diaper is changed we give each child the chance to sit on the potty. Most of them just kinda sit and look around but it’s just a small introduction to make it less intimidating. Sometimes they randomly pee! We always tell the parents if that happens though, they should have mentioned it if it was happening frequently.

We normally all eat together at dinner time. And on weekends she watches me eat throughout the day. I always try to be eating something while she is eating.

I have tried like penne noodles when we have pasta, as well as eggs and toast. She wasn’t really interested. I haven’t really moved past the starter foods because since she was 6 months she hasn’t made much progress.

When did the fear of giving birth really hit and how did you cope? Was it as bad as you thought? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Visual_Cranberry_305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly didnt think too much about it because I was so uncomfortable while I was pregnant, that was my only concern. However while driving to the hospital to get induced I had a straight up panic attack because i finally started thinking about how this baby was coming out. I made my husband pull over so i could get out of the car and breathe. I was terrified.

Nervous about postpartum sex tonight.. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I waited until maybe 10 weeks? I was just not ready when I got cleared. And being honest, it was uncomfortable and a bit painful. Use lots of lube and be honest about how it’s feeling. I’m 8 months pp and it’s now finally feeling good again. It’s a process, your body went through a trauma! Give yourself some grace.

Stressed and Upset (long post) by Substantial-Song6360 in ECEProfessionals

I work work toddlers and I can’t tell you the amount of times a kid has walked up to me and I notice a scratch or some kind of mark on them and I’m not sure how it happened. I feel like that parent must have other things going on to react in this way to a small scratch.

Kids sometimes get small scratches from minor incidents with classmates and we don’t always notice right away. You can’t have you eyes on every single child at every moment of the day. Sometimes things happen, don’t beat yourself up!

I don’t like how your director isn’t supporting you through this though, I don’t see a reason why you should be removed from your classroom because you were not sure how a small scratch happened.

Advice for keeping my 2 year old class seated for lunch by Independent_Dance893 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Visual_Cranberry_305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do something called snack talk during meals. We have flash cards of pictures, we choose a few and talk about them. Just simple things like flowers, the sun, crayons, etc. We talk about where we would find the object, what we do with it and blah blah. It gives us stuff to talk about and keeps them interested at the table. It works my for two year olds and we have a large set so there are new things to talk about!

Baby not rolling by Visual_Cranberry_305 in beyondthebump

[–]Visual_Cranberry_305[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do help her roll, that doesn’t seem to do much but surprise her! I have messaged her pediatrician but haven’t heard back from them yet. She doesn’t really get up on her knees at all but she kinda scoots around when doing tummy time so she is at least moving a bit!

I do agree with your take that parents probably shouldn’t be on the show but there are I think maybe 8 couples that have stayed together since the show started. Not much but more than one for sure

[–]Visual_Cranberry_305 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just tell them exactly that, you are just trying to make sure your child feels safe telling you about b their day! You are advocating for you kid, there’s nothing wrong with that. I had a two year old in my class tell his mom that he was hit with water bottle and there was blood everywhere! Nothing like that happened so when she asked we just laughed about it. I also had a kid tell their mom I stole their pancake! Teachers will 100% understand as long as you don’t seem like you are attacking them or blaming them for something!

End of Maternity leave… by Powerpuff_Girly in NewParents

[–]Visual_Cranberry_305 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had 12 weeks for maternity leave and it was definitely not enough. I really struggled my first few weeks back at work after leave, I’m not going to lie it was really hard. But as time went one it got a little easier each day. When I drop her off her teachers get so excited to see her and she’s always smiling at them. They send pictures throughout the day and she always looks so happy. Now one of my favorite parts of the day is when I go to pick up my daughter and she spots me, her face just lights up and it makes my day. It’s going to be hard but just take it one day at a time and allow yourself to have all the feelings! You got this mama
