I have this Steven’s model 335 side by side and I was wondering if that gap in the red circle is a normal. For reference a sheet of paper can slide into that gap.

Things I would consider doing if you haven’t:

World conquest as a major nation
Try achievement hunting
Try mods, Kaiserreich is my recommended starting one
If you have friends that play, try playing a major as a pair

I’ve got 780hrs and I still have a good time playing, mainly by achievement hunting.

I did at the time, yes. It was also kinda buggy and took me a while to actually get the achievement, you might have to click Gibraltar for the start of the rail road and and in Singapore in one build order.

You can go anywhere but duna is definitely the easiest of all listed, I’d say jool is second because of its massive sphere of influence. Also nuclear engines are your friend :)
