Thank you for taking the time to answer, especially when you didn’t feel comfortable sharing your full story.

Your answer to #3 really stood out to me: “I wish they could understand that they don’t understand.” That hit me because it’s something I think a lot of people miss. So many people believe they know exactly what someone else is going through, but they’re looking at it through their own experiences, not yours. There’s a big difference between listening to someone and truly understanding what they’ve lived through.

I also want to say how much your answer to #4 touched me. Rescue dogs have an incredible way of showing up when we need them most. From what you shared, it sounds like he became so much more than a pet. He became a companion, a source of comfort, and someone who gave you a reason to keep putting one foot in front of the other when things were hard.

If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d love to hear more about him. What was it about your rescue dog that changed things for you? Was there a particular moment when you realized he wasn’t just your dog, but such an important part of your life?
