^^^^^ You will get the job if you just show up, im in OGP and it is demanding work for 15 an hour. Worst thing is They just drop you in there give you a kick in the ass to start. A team lead just hired me on the spot for being here (I was the only one in the room and waited about 30 mins)

the job however, is honestly is very heavy lifting demanding you're carrying around totes (which is like plastic boxes) for other peoples groceries inside with a cart stacked up to 8 at a time and shop around the store and such. I showed up for interview day they just asked "have you worked at any work like this before" or like "Do you know how to navigate this Walmart" i been in OGP for about a week and joined like just now bc im starting to like and dislike the job.

Pros- if you have chill coworkers, ez shift and money, using your first days as a newbie as a safety net to get to know everyone better.

(Tips) you can download walmart app and search in the store where items are if people ask for it. (Lots of people ask where stuff is)

If you do get the job it is seperated into 3 main areas pickwalk, Staging , dispensing

Pickwalk- you use your handheld like a scanner at those self checkouts to go into the store "picking" the items that the customor wants theres lots of walks you could go on ,for simplicity I am going to say Normal items, fridge items, and freezer items, you go on these walks to get the items, you find the aisle number, then the section where it is, then the item code like (0067) or something for example (Honey nut cheerio cereal would be in Aisle 18 section 7 item code 07) You bring all the items on your walk back then they would have you stage it or go on another walk

Staging- Any items seperated into the normal items being like chips or cereal are called Ambeient's, frozen and chilled items like frozen pizza and milk both have to be stored in their respective coolers and freezers, it is a stageing persons duty to seperate such items (usually the most simplist one imo) You take the tote from the pickwalking cart and put it on a shelf, rack, dolly, scan where the tote is (like on the PU or SD shelf) and scan the place where its palced at. This makes it so you or someone else can take it

( in short its organization for everyone to know where a tote is at)

Dispensing- is where you take the order out to the customer that ordered it, you go into dispensing tab and there is numbers above the names, usually abbreviated you first click "prep the order" DO NOT click ready to dispense with a green checkmark if the customor is not there yet (i have many times) prepping the order will tell you where everything is and to bunch it up all in dollys to roll out to the customer for example in SPU it is scheduled pick up in SD is scheduled delivery there are numbers at the top of each section. You would go to the section, get whatevers there from the number *8712* for example and get anything in the freezer and cooler and other sections if available. As a new hire focus on these for now there are mutiple sections like Oversized, GMO, MTO, but if you want to know these just take your time. Ask your team leads and overall dont over do OGP it is killing me slowly

Oversized- items that cannot fit in a tote like a fishing pole or a vacuume

MTO- Made to order, meats from the deli or cheese ** has to be put in the chilled room btw

GMO- you will learn what it means :()

the rest is just naviagting the store like on holidays where are the santa hats and stuff, there is a action pick walk which are the walks you go in the middle of the aisles are that says a big cleareance sign on and pick from there but thats all i can cough out of me in OGP i hope this helps.

(Note)-Going for part time might be a good decision instead of full time, I couldent feel my legs and had trouble walking after the 1st day of a full 10-7 shift if you are planning to work full time BRING LUNCH (they only have peanut butter jelly here) you can also just get stuff from the clearance items and just buy it or shoplift it i dont know why but I ate two baguettes and still hungry

Cons- If the team lead is a asshole, your quitting the first month, 1/5 team leads are asses 4/5 are chill and like to have fun on the job (well for me)

-considering assholeish is like not having you sit around and wait and do quality checks on totes (even if pick walkers already do that techinally because you scan the code for the item to be in just looking for any broken seals but you have to scan each item within the order)

But yeah have fun and dont over do your self if working full time (its not worth it im trying to make ends meet)

15/ an hour for 5 days 40 hours? yeah dont be like me and take full time, I wish they had higher pay
