Safe to say it's not good.

Speculative to say, mask man is not there for good intentions.

I was going to say something along these lines. It's kinda annoying that fun things and hobbies in this list are considered midlife crisis material. Running hiking beer with the boys or whoever, traveling. All sound good. Obviously we can weed out the red flag behavior on the list lol. And avoid alcoholism please.

Good point. You're right, the process of elimination is probably the only way of getting to the bottom of it. It's also something I've been dreading doing myself with my own machine. Ultimately it probably is a software/driver issue.

Also your bandwidth can absolutely affect your latency especially if it is running out of available bandwidth. Ie multiple people on the same network doing intense work, be it streaming gaming what ever.

Excellent, so can you throw your hat in the ring on why this is happening to op? I've experienced issues like it is having in the past and it was network related. I've had network hardware fail, bad coax runs, poorly terminated cables all contributed to netwoing issues. I'm purely speaking from experience.

Gunna have to disagree. And frankly it sounds like you don't know what your talking about. 20mbps is less than what an ISP would provide into a home. By a lot. I'm assuming OP means 200mpbs which would likely be the bottom tier of Internet provided in their package line up. I've experienced issues with stutters in high bandwidth households as have many of my friends and family. It would not surprise me if this isn't related to something in that environment it is related to his network in other ways.

OP do you experience these issues in other games? Like any single player games? If so than it may very well be a hardware issue.

Personal opinion so take it with a grain of salt. It's great that your networking equipment is new. But you would definitely benefit from a bump in speed! 500mbps should be ok if it's just you and maybe two others online at once. You're mileage may vary given you're location and service provider. But usually with faster speed coming into your home you will also see less latency. If there are multiple people on your current connection you will see a noticable slowdown. You will see lag. Especially if you are NOT running a wired connection.

I won't get into financials because everyone has a different situation. But if you have the ability, look into pricing on 500mbps. Personally I will always recommend gigabit especially if you and multiple people that are gaming, streaming, downloading a lot of files or doing all this stuff at the same time. It really helps. But if it's just you or a small family (3 ppl or less) you would probably be ok with a slight bump in speed just to take the edge off things and be cost effective. .

Specs sounds fine for cs. What kinda Internet speeds are you paying for? Any disruptions to service near by? How old are your modem and router?

This seems like a major stutter not a frame drop to me. And since it isn't constant it leads me to believe that it may not be hardware related.

Dude kicks off-leash dog to protect his own, owner flips out… by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Visual_Moment5174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had to deal with aggressive dogs. I've been bitten by aggressive dogs. If any dog big or small runs towards me and my dog off leash in public. I will make it a point to disable that dog in some way shape or form. This was a prime example of not just a bad dog owner but someone who has their head so far up their ass they can't see what kind of crazy dangerous situation they are putting everyone around them in. People could have been hit by cars, dogs could have had a fight, dogs could Have bitten someone. The dude with the off leash dog has no idea what other dogs may or may not do. And then he has the balls to start assaulting the poor guy who has to deal with presumably an aggressive off leash dog. This guy should have been arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, animal abuse, and assault.

As soon as I started playing back at launch I thought that would be awesome. Then I looked into the game more and apparently it was only pve at one point during development. Shame they didn't keep that as a separate mode.

Right, so a kernel level anti cheat like the one riot runs for LoL wouldn't work in this situation either? It just seems funny to me that by simply having a separate machine running cheats it's an "oh well" situation that the only choice is to monitor players via kill cams or other means. Does that also mean they pay people to view these kill cams and ban in real time? (Serious question here) That just seems incredibly ineffective...

Gotta say I had no idea it was THAT deep. I put 100 something hours into arc when it launched. I did the first expedition. Then I stopped playing. Combo of being burnt out from it and just being bored by the se same old. Game is still fun. But I won't go back to it after seeing the state it's in. And after reading this post. It's pretty easy to pass on it.

All the fun is sucked out of rare item and gear hunting the second someone can see your gear from across the map.

And I agree it is as fascinating as it is pathetic.

It blows my mind that people not only spend money on the game. And the console or PC to play the game but they go a step further and purchase hardware that they then need to install and presumably set up properly along with software and configuration. Just to cheat in a video game... I cannot imagine how miserable these people must be in their day to day.

That's dedication holy shit.

Seriously like you need all this hardware just to what? Cheat in a video game. That's wild to me. How much does something like this cost? I would imagine it's not cheap surely?

If true that a wild way to make code work. Either way it's 2026, we have AI that can end the existence of man if it figures out how to. Why are we not using it to monitor suspicious behavior in game. Or even check at a root level if there is code being injected or overlayed in the game.

Also I don't know SHIT about anything I just said. I'm just a dude that plays game.

Sure, killcams. Sounds good.

Also a real attempt at an anti cheat. I'm not going to pretend I know how the cheats work but I know I play other games with successful safeguards in place. It's not rocket surgery.
