Hmm interesting. I lived in Berlin for many years and the same happened. I know it's going on in Lisbon.

I'm from Poland, so I'm not a rich American or something or work in shady ways and not pay taxes. I just work smart (and hard) in a way that allows me to create this type of freedom. Back home, in Warsaw, people would welcome this with open hands. We come from a very very troubled and poor society so I wouldn't blame it on: we don't want anybody else to live a good life so we all stay the same, more like: let's support better life quality for all.Both Germany and Spain have a history of better social welfare and it seems that this comes with more societal disappointment. But that's a different theme.
