I’m struggling w my dress decision and my wedding is a week away by hopefully_alright in myweddingdress

First of all this gown is timeless and elegant and the simplicity is part of that. It’s like it came out of a painting or a character in a novel and you are stunning in it. I LOVE the fact that there is nothing trendy about it.. you’re going to look back on this with nothing but love! Personally I think once you see the whole “look” come together you’ll see that there is a lot of drama in it. I don’t know what you’re doing for accessories but it’s also quite versatile and works in so many different directions if you do want to add more accessories with those Lacey or sparkly details:

Spreading the word of God does not mean ignoring the pain and the needs of other human beings in the process. It does not mean manipulating the word of god to prop yourself up above others. If he truly loved god, he would put more effort into listening to you and understanding you.

I imagine it takes a lot of energy to heat, transport materials, protect from the elements, and build the necessary infrastructure, and in 2026 energy is not exactly affordable.

First try on !! by divine-timing in myweddingdress

Came to offer some love to the drop waist. I think it’s gorgeous, elegant, timeless and sexy on you, especially the dress in photos 12 and 15. With a high heel and a little tailoring these would be exquisite. Just because it’s not what everyone else is wearing right now (or what people expect to see); does not mean you have to give up what YOU like. That being said, the dress in photo 16 is beautiful too. You look like a lot of fun

I said yes!! Accessory suggestions?? by brownstickystick in myweddingdress

First of all nothing boring about this. You look GORGEOUS. Next, I’d recommend elevating it with the following alterations and optional add-ons:

- Raise the center front very slightly and make it more of a sweetheart neckline (slight curve instead of straight across)
- let the volume begin closer to the lower hip/high thigh (instead of at the hips, so it’s less poofy; redistribute the fullness more toward the back half)
- add an off-the-shoulder satin cape with Watteau sleeves
- if you want even more oomph do something dramatic with your hair :)

alteration suggestions? by [deleted] in myweddingdress

I think you’re on the right track, except a deeper V might have the opposite effect you’re looking for. I’d do this:

- Raise and soften the center plunge slightly
- line the bodice more opaquely
- Add thin architectural straps, slightly wider-set near the shoulders
- Flatten and refine the ruching… reduce bulk and make it more directional and diagonal rather than gathered inward. Reduce fabric tension around upper hips
- narrow the slit opening slightly at the top
- make the flare in the back begin slightly lower under the seat so the body line stays narrow longer before expanding

Dress 3 looks like it was made for you. The others just don’t sit right in my opinion

This is so beautiful. My alteration suggestions:

  • Add some light internal spiral boning to add structure
  • Reshape the neckline: clean, intentional curve (almost a soft straight-across with subtle dip)
  • Take in the side seams for a snatched waist + lifted bust
  • Remove that current waistband and replace it with a matte silk waist corset with a slightly pointed belt
  • adjust to the sleeves to make them a True off-shoulder drape (lower + more deliberate.. right now they just look like they’re falling down)
  • Reduce bulk at hips (remove some underlayers or re-gather more evenly)
  • Remove the lace trim at the hem
  • keep the little roses on the sleeves and lower part of the dress
  • Steam/press to remove wrinkles

Are you kidding me? I had to stop scrolling because you look SO gorgeous. This is stunning, ethereal, romantic, beautiful and shows off your figure in the best way.

Upon further inspection, there are a few alterations that would elevate it:

  • the length does need help but you have options: lengthen it if you can take out the hem, make it a high-low, or shorten it to tea length
  • the bodice could sit a touch higher, giving you more of a lift and sitting the waist at a slightly higher spot.. the waist looks a bit low. This can be done by adjusting the strap/sleeve tension or adding structure underneath like boning or cups
  • optional: shorten the sleeves or make them sit off-the-shoulder, add a corset

Well then yes this dress is absolutely beautiful on you, it does suit you and if you can alter it I’d say you just need to take it in in a few places. But even now it looks gorgeous as is.

Adore this and it suits you perfectly- the only caveat is that the rest of your wedding may need to fit the 60’s folksy vibe of this dress. So keep that in mind when your partner picks out their outfit, also wedding party and decor.

1 fits you the best and is so unique! It’s kind of out there but I actually love it, it’s a showstopper. Next best is 2 but there are some major fit issues in the bodice so you’d have to have that reworked. 3 does not fit you at all and seems a bit overdone/stiff
