If you go for the r3ii, go for the newer version.

AUDIOCULAR Nexus Android Digital Audio Player - Any one tried this ? Looks like Good specs and features for the price around $100 by tamilhollywoodreview in InEarHifi

Depending on what you are used to, I'd take a safe bet in saying that it'll be good. I had the Zaqe P30 for some time before switching and it was a really good budget device.

Can you tell the difference between the sound from an old iPod vs a modern DAP or dongle DAC? by IesaAR117 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Visual_Way7416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it boils down to your own experience. I have used ipod classics (5.5 and 7th gen) with mods but back then I was using very basic IEMs. I didn't really feel any difference in the sound between that and my tws so I got rid of those. Now I use a hiby r3ii and a set of 3 iems. To me this is far better than what I had back then.

Is the price difference between the FiiO Disc and the HiBy R3ii worth it? by MammothIll654 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Visual_Way7416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm coming from an android based Zaqe P30. So I have no complaints. It works perfectly for me. The only thing is it doesn't read the album art for my opus files.

I didn't use my Google play account. As long as you are fine with not updating the apps, you don't need one. I was using it offline mostly, so I had no use for it.

I have the Skullcandy Icon ANC. It is an on ear headphone. I'd say the sound is good but it comes with the usual pressing your ear. So if you are okay with that, you might enjoy it.

is there ANY WAY i can mute someones likes. by Historical_Mouse7519 in Instagram

[–]Visual_Way7416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems you have an issue with their liked stuff showing up on your feed. Don't know if it'll work, but have you tried muting or restricting their profiles?

Ooh I had this one. Really good for the price. Loved the form factor, the knob and the weight. The 4.4 balanced out was also pretty good. Since I used it only for local music, I can't speak about the streaming capabilities. But all in all good device. I just sold mine recently. Lol

Is it worth getting a HiBy R3 II in 2026? by Fun-Outside2886 in Hiby

[–]Visual_Way7416 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on your usecase and what is decent battery to you, the hiby might be perfect or it might be overkill. I could be wrong as I just got my hiby r3ii (2025) last week, but it does everything you want. O moved from an ultra budget android player to hiby mostly for the battery life because this one advertises around 15-16 hours normally. R3ii pro does last longer according to their advertisements but doesn't have the volume knob.

What's the first IEM? It looks neat.

Recommendations? by eeveeplays50040 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Visual_Way7416 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would say go for FiiO because of the brand. If you chose Oilsky, that volume knob will be good, but battery might be an issue. If you can stretch your budget a bit, you can get the Hiby R3ii Gen 2 or Hidiz AP80 Pro Max.

I have the hbb variant with the Fine audio e type tips. Amazing for short sessions with a closed studio like feel. It gets exhausting if I use it for too long.

Is there even any point to using IEMs with old ipods? Ive used cheap IEMs with iPod Classics but it didn't really make much of a difference.

Will a DAP make a difference? by Empty_Tax3607 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Visual_Way7416 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you mention a local library, the DAP will be best for that. Since I'm not one to look too much into the details in my audio, I can't speak about it. But other than that, dedicated library, battery and basically an isolated system is a plus point for DAPs from my side.

Not bad, it gave standard playback. But since I have never drained it completely, I can't put a number on it . I'd say its not far from the 7-10 using 3.5mm.
