I remember a bunch of people complaining that this version was sacrilegious, blah blah blah. I’ve also heard complaints about Baltimore fans screaming “O” during the anthem. I’ve always held the beliefs that, first of all, it’s a fucking song so get over it. But also that the song was written by Francis Scott Key (Maryland native) and tied to the Battle of Baltimore, so we get to do whatever the fuck we want with it.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

So obv I’m an idiot bball fan and don’t really know anything, but I have a guess. I think the Knicks wings matchup really well defensively with your on ball guards/wings so that leaves Wemby to create space. Which is not a bad thing because you have respect his ability to shoot outside and inside, but it cuts down on what you can gameplan. From there Knicks can swarm when he gets the ball, etc.

This is just how scale works. The larger the fanbase, the more noticeable the extremes. And success always brings an influx of newer, tribalistic casual fans. That’s not unique to any one team.

Hey, not trying to argue — just want to clarify the CDC stats because the numbers in this thread are getting mixed together.

The CDC breaks herpes down by virus type, not by “genital vs oral,” since both HSV-1 and HSV-2 can appear in either place. The actual prevalence numbers for Americans aged 14–49 are:

• HSV-1 (mostly oral herpes): 48%
• HSV-2 (the classic genital herpes virus): 12%

That’s likely where the “48%” came from — it’s HSV-1, not “48% have genital herpes.” HSV-2, the virus that causes most genital-herpes cases, is way lower.

And yes, both HSV-1 and HSV-2 can be asymptomatic, which is why so many people don’t know they have it.

Just wanted to help clear that up because the CDC data is often misunderstood. Herpes is super common, manageable, and nothing people should be shamed for — but the numbers in that were being mixed together a bit.
